No contract will ever handcuff the yankees. The yankees are worth over a billion dollars, and with all the revenue a-rod will bring in with the hr chase, plus the all-star game and the new stadium, the yankees will be richer then ever.

And you know this how? If he can't play in Year 8, 9 and 10, that won't handcuff the Yankees?

Not in any way comparable to how Houston's deal handcuffed the Knicks. Sure, ARod's contract could limit the Yanks down the road somewhat, but not handcuff them to the point where they have no chance to improve the team like the Knicks were stuck.

to Allan Houston.

about a-rod hopefully he get grip this time and show up in October.

Well Houston's disaster contract crippled the Knicks because of the salary cap, not because they didn't have the money to pay it.

& do we not realize the insane amount of money that Arod approaching the HR record will bring to the Yankees? Bonds, a steroid user, was approaching the record this season the Giants ranked 3rd in road attendance. Safe to say, as long as Arod stays off of Mitchell lists, the Yankees road attendance will dwarf the Giants attendence the season Arod approaches & passes the record.

I agree it is a ridiculous deal but the Yankees will make every bit of it back if he stays healthy.

Arods contract is Front loaded... so i dont think itll handcuff them at all because they worked it out so its front loaded.
