But Dallas doesn't have the assets to get PHX to bite.
But Dallas will not give up any significant assets for 48 yo KD you mean.

Mavs have the assets. Salary filler too (THJ plus 2-3 others and becomes a 4-5 for one - but doable).
Explain your take on “best fit.” KD and Irving paired again? Not sure that is best fit.
Or are you shipping Irving out to accomplish KD in Big D?

Did Beal's no trade clause get cancelled with the trade to PHX?

Come on, that is laughable.
Black had a meh rookie season. Howard is easily in bust category. 2024 Magic 1st is already meh #18 in bad draft and 2025 1st from a playoff team adding Booker (so late late 1st). That is maybe 1/2 of what Booker would warrant in trade.

Suns would have the same problem with Kat
3 offensive stars that won't have a Point Guard
Ya I'm not saying it'll fix them but KAT is at least on the same timeline and should appease their franchise player in Booker as they're former teammates. Their roster is too unbalanced but the issue is Beal and his contract which is virtually untradeable at the moment so they'd have to look elsewhere to shake up the roster. Perhaps trade Nurkic for a forward/pg
Why not just trade Durant/Nurkic for DLo, Austin, Rui, Hayes
Both teams get what they want
Suns get a PG & Beal Backup and Young PF/C
Lakers get their Big 3 with Nurkic to help guard Jokic
If he ops out and demand a max, he can go but will try to do a sign and trade. It's a business decision.ChipotleWest wrote:LaLover11 wrote:Up-And-Coming wrote:

DLo has a player option, he can just leave the Lakers if he chooses so he can't really be traded unless he opts in.

If they had Haliburton they probably don't resign CP3, or at least don't worry about the window closing when he ages out.
If they don't have to consider Paul's timeline they don't trade everything for Durant.
They'd be sitting with a Booker/Haliburton/Bridges core, maybe Ayton and Johnson as well. That would be pretty damn good

I think you and others vastly overrate Booker. He's really good. But he's basically just a scorer with decent playmaking. He plays no defense and is a crappy leader. He'll be 28 y/o and he is getting $50, $53, $57 and $61 million over the next four years. You have to account for that in trades. Either a team has the cap space to absorb the contract (like ORL) or they need to send back commensurate salary to make it legal. There aren't many teams that have a guy making that amount, that they want to get rid of, and that is someone the Suns would want in return PLUS the first round picks and young talent to make it worth the Suns while.

He could've easily played with LeBron after the Warriors stint in Los Angeles. But he decided to team up with Kyrie instead lmao
He said in a interview he always wanted to compete vs LeBron. I don't think he was ever close enough to want to join LeBron.
Aka the NBA paid him to never join him because he would've easily caught MJ in rings with Durant.
