But asking this Bucks team to give even just a solid effort defensively is a massive ask.

Especially when the guy who is supposed to lead us (Dame) is a guy who doesn't even try on defense. I get that Dame maybe doesn't have the skills to be a great defender, but the fact that he doesn't even give effort most of the time defensively is what infuriates me.

Dame is a classic example of one of those guys who is a great individual talent and can score the ball and can show out in all star situations.

But having watched Dame play basketball up close 2-3 times a week for almost 7 months now, I can say with great confidence that no team would ever come close to reaching an NBA Finals with Dame as one of their main guys, even if Giannis is your #1 guy.

Dame is a ball dominate volume shooter who has zero interest in playing defense.

The definition of overrated.

Im trying to find the words to reply to this statement without being disrespectful...

cant be done

Giannis being out gives rilamann perfect cover to put forth these compltely braindead statements as certainty.

If Giannis can't run at this point I'm assuming he's done for the year.

Live / die by Dame this game.. disappointed if we lose and Dame didn't take 35 shots. Teammates: screen for him and ge the ball back to him.. roll to the hoop.. AJJ like 5 alley-oops if he plays.

Yeah even if we somehow win this series I’m quickly losing optimism that Giannis could even go in round 2.

Sounds fun. When I'm old and gray, sitting in the stands with my grandson, pointing to Giannis' jersey in the rafters, right next to at least one championship banner, reminiscing about his discovery of basketball, his journey to America, Milwaukee, the NBA, his family, the MVP's, all the accolades, and the 50-piece in Game 6, I'll be damned if I forget to impart on little bright-eyed Timmy that Giannis was, in fact, "occasionally injured" and had a "frustrating free throw routine."

That's how I handled it with my kids, pointing out Big O's jersey. Maybe you tell your grandkids about this poster named.....

Rilaman, like Dame, is a volume shooter.

The Bucks with Giannis & Dame couldn't even win 50 regular season games while playing in a conference that has 1 only legit contender.

No team with Damien Lillard will ever win anything of significance (and no team ever has) because Damien Lillard will completely sabotage any defense that he is a part of.

Man, If we can just steal one today, we would be in great condition for Giannis to come back.

Think that one through. Maybe you can come up with a scenario where thats not the case.

I guess ill just toss one off the top of the head: how about if Giannis has a 2-4 week injury and simply cant be ready by the time this series ends but could definitely play in round 2?

How am i doing having given that 1 second of thought?

I get tempering expectations, Wisconsin sports PTSD, and wanting to push whatever agenda you've had all season but this board is miserable. We're playing the Indiana Pacers not the Jordan Bulls, it's 1-1. Take one of the next two and we're still in it.

Go Bucks.

Giannis is at week 2 of an estimated 2-4 week recovery. It's a weird take to say he's definitively done for the year because he's not ready and the earliest possible time

Had no idea the Bucks not only played today but are playing right now. Glad there's something to watch before the draft tonight.

Dame tried plenty on D in these two games.

Also, Dame made a WCF which is by definition "close to reaching an NBA Finals" and has won multiple rounds of playoffs as the #1 with some pretty rough rosters around himself. To say you could never make a finals with him as a #2 is absolutely crazy talk. If you swap Dame and Curry for their whole careers with everything else around them the exact same I'd be shocked if they didn't have a couple titles.

After all these years this talk that you can't win with a poor D score first lead guard still powers through, in spite of the majority good teams the last chunk of years usually having a guy just like that. Meanwhile, Chris Paul never won a title (and one of the times he almost won it was because the actual lead was a poor D great O in Harden). Have to factor in the rules basically don't even allow PGs to play D anymore. Assuming the first rounds play out like they seem, I count 6/8 remaining teams will have that.

Imagine how lame a 5:30 start time would be for your most hyped playoff game in forever. Hopefully it has an effect on the crowd.
