I'll be interested to see how bad it has to get for Chourio before the Brewers consider a similar move. His batting average is about to dip below .200

Genius move for all involved. If he's good, he can make a bunch of $ in NIL as a man amongst boys and get a degree.

Came for the Skenes highlights, stayed for 3 different Pirate pitchers combining to walk SIX batters with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 5th inning. Combined with an RBI single, they turned a 6-1 lead into an 8-6 deficit - and still ended up winning (LOL Cubbies).

Did it seem like a lot of those pink bats broke yesterday? It was crazy how Carpenter's broke before it even hit the ball, and I saw at least 2 more break just watching the Brewers and catching a few highlights. Probably gotta be careful how fast you churn out bats for a marketing thing like that if you're going to compromise on quality. Some of those were practically live spears.

ETA: NVM, Carpenter wasn't using a pink bat. My bad.

I'm happy for Pirates fans tbh, they deserve something good for a change. I won't be happy when we have to face him though.

The obvious question is when will his reconstructive surgery be and will they get to contention before then.

I know he has good stuff otherwise, but not sure if it's good enough for a return several years from now if he's only throwing 95, not 101.

I do think with Skenes, Jones, Cruz, Reynolds...they might get themselves in contention for a wild card slot this year. They have a solid team.

I completely forgot MLB has a draft lottery now. Nats would have had him without that.
