I completely agree - it's moronic to hold the 2015 Finals MVP against Steph

One thing that I can't seem to figure out is why Clutch time is still considered 5 Points or less. You can't seriously tell me in today's era that a 6 or 10 point lead with 4:23 remaining isn't clutch time.

Good question, agreed, they should stretch it to 10 points and adjust the time. 5pts or less was defintely before this era.

God I really hope they keep Klay at a good number and can turn CP/Kuminga/picks into a true second option
Everybody and their mother hating on Klay has only made me love him more - same thing that happened with Draymond now that I think about it

It wouldn't be for defense, nor for efficient scoring (2019 was the last time he was above league average and he's been below it for 3 seasons now, though obviously 2020 was an injury-riddled nightmare).
What is it which makes you want them to retain him?

Draymond critics were just people who think basketball is scoring and didn't really see the impact his defense and playmaking offered. There's no dynasty without Dray anchoring the defensive side. And his dumb antics obviously which made some people mad (this is the side where I do wanna criticize him fully because that guy should understand how important he is and stop this MMA gimmick in NBA).
As much as I love Klay though, he's washed. Doesn't offer much impact. I still love the man and he's a franchise legend I grew up with but sometimes, logic should be prioritized over emotions. You have to admit he's a liability on this team and if you wanna win, we gotta move on. Unless, you just wanna ride it out with the old championship core (which I'm not particularly opposed to as I believe our championship window is finished unless we get a superstar by a miracle though I'd like us to at least try to win while Steph is still elite)

Oh I'm not blind, it's mostly sentimentality. But also there's a still role for a high volume 3 point scorer in that offense, we just can't rely on klay every game at this point

klay is toast, if we keep him and play him to close the game (which i am sure will happen) we will just be bad, he is making 29% of threes in the 4th and will get worse from here.

Emotionally, I can understand that. From a POV of trying to win, though, it doesn't seem like a good idea, is all I meant.

Assuming Steph/Dray are still on the roster I think George would fit quite nicely into the mix.
Bit of a last hurrah for the old men.

That would be a good thing at this stage, I think. He's been considerably less effective than he needs to be for several years now.

I'm all for it. Maximize your title odds now even if it's a long shot still. Curry deserves at least that after other approaches have failed. Of course, the deal has to make sense and should not just be a deal for the sake of dealing but George would 100% fit the profile. Sure, he'll be expensive towards the end of the contract and the Warriors will have to tap into their future assets a bit but George should fit seamlessly and, when healthy, should still be an All-Star level player or close to it for the next two years or so. That's good enough for me.

He has his moments. What an end of an era though.
