Jesus Harden.
Great blockout by Powell.
Harden gets the game ball.

That wasn't a foul on Westbrook.
Got the split. That's all they needed. Got home court again, that's all that matters. Sorry refs, y'all couldn't take this one.

Phew I had to get away from the game for a bit. I can't believe we held the lead. Good job!

Credit where credit is due. I've been a big time critic of Harden and PG, but that was the most impressive display of clutch shot making in Clipper history and one of the most impressive in recent memory. It should have never come down to that, but if they had to blow that lead, it's the best possible outcome since you know losing like that has to feel demoralizing for the Mavs.

I will take winning over losing. Blowing this game would have been catastrophic, Harden deserves some credit for taking control down the stretch.

That was just some clutch shot after clutch shot.
Obviously Kawhi was not helping in half form, Clippers back in the "advantaged" possession, let's see how it goes next game.

The Worst Win In NBA History
Some time today, I am expecting Elias Sports to bring up Clippers as first team in NBA history to win a game after blowing a 31-point lead and being in a deficit (the last part is important because most blown leads had ties).
Clippers love to punish themselves. Something must have happened when they got that huge 31-point lead that made them just want to purposely lose this game. It was only until Mavericks took the lead that Clippers said, "Okay, now we've been punished enough."
Something is wrong with this franchise. And Jerry West must be hating this.

I'm a happy, happy fan for today. We're not going deep into the playoffs without healthy Kawhi and that's probably going to suck later, but it's surely nice to see us not taking it lying down. Imagine if Mavs didn't have their best player (or even 2nd best.)

This is what I'm talkin' about. This is what it takes. Miracle performances by the big guns are routine on the way to a title.

What's wild is that it seems obvious he set that one up. Tough shot but he set it up perfectly and planted both feet exactly where they needed to be.

got a touch dicey at the end there with the westbrook foul but boy was this a dramatic game and win.
the 3rd quarter run was inevitable and the team held through one of the most high-level displays of superstar shooting you'll ever see, in hostile territory, battling against some one-sided officiating, all while the other team had the momentum and energy for most of the game.
but everyone pretty much did what they were supposed to. plumlee finally contributing was a shot in the arm. PG and harden were the clear stars with the former being out of this world with his play early on and with his insanely clutch shot in the 4th, and the latter carrying the team down the stretch. norm powell had some high-level, yet understated impact in his minutes on both sides of the ball. complaints about ty lue make little to zero sense to me, given our best players are out there with zero reinforcements waiting in the wings, and the mavs having virtually every single thing (big and small) going for them in the 3rd. as far as i could tell, his two biggest issues were that the refs decided to call every offensive fouls possible on the clips, and that james harden is a puny mortal who isn't able to play 48 full minutes of an NBA game. what can you do?

Regained home court. Harden looking great. He needs to continue to control this cause we can beat this team even without Kawhi. We even overcame the mauling of Zu and push off flop baiting of Luka.

Watching the nbatv post game show.
Loved Rick Mahorn pointing out too soon for Washington doing the pose thing.
Udonis Haslem saying they’re not a better team without Kawhi but the game is simplified right now.

i think this was a really clear display of the team being able to integrate and execute a really clear gameplan with guys locked into their roles, rather than having things jumbled on the fly with their top guy being a burden - just like the first game. and the results are kinda similar, right? role players are just doing their thing at a high level, and the big two are doing their things at a high level. and nobody's really worrying about getting kawhi touches or making him comfortable, nor are they expecting him to carry the team when he actually cannot.
