Disappointing," Embiid told reporters of the Knicks' fan support. "I love our fans. Think it's unfortunate, and I'm not calling them out, but it is disappointing. Obviously, you got a lot of Knicks fans, and they're down the road.""I've never seen it, and I've been here for 10 years," he said. "Yeah, it kind of pisses me off, especially because Philly is considered a sports town. They've always shown up, and I don't think that should happen. Yeah, it's not OK." Joel I mean this respectfully but STFU
Now, im sure he was asked about Knicks fan infiltration but at this point why does it matter. You have had a great crowd for 10 seasons and still couldnt make a deep playoff run. The fans cant come down on the floor and rebound the ball. Sixers fans have been shouting MVP everytime you go to the line and being patient season after season while your injured since you got here. At this point maybe Sixers fans are over an underachieving team every season.
I think most Sixers fans are also smart enough to know this roster ain't it. I probably would of sold my seat too(maybe not). Tell Morey to actually put a product on the floor the fans can be confident in like the Knicks have and you might not have this happen. Hopefully Harris and Morey felt the overwhelming Knicks fan presence as well . If Morey doesn't get the job done this offseason hopefully Sixers ticket sales continue to go down. There being inclination that fans are growing tired of the same old song and dance every season may be a bit of an eye opener for front office.
I agree with him. It is annoying to see them takeover our stadium in the playoffs. Eagles fans have been doing it for years, but man, it's embarrassing to happen here.
I might be wrong, but it feels like an aftermarket issue. Too many people buy up season tickets as an investment so that they can sell to the highest bidder. As far as I'm aware, that's who gets first dibs on ticket purchases.
That said, I agree with you that he needs to keep his mouth shut there. Your team just got embarrassed on the boards down the stretch of a do or die game with you being the biggest guy on the floor by about 4 inches. Not the time to call out fans, particularly when it's not like it's the fans that control who buys the tickets. Complain to Josh.
