Roster & Salary Cap Oprtions
Fox has two years left & then he is a 60 million per yr guy. Fox & Sabonis in three years will be 110 million. As we saw this team cannot compete for a championship. Two options: keep pretty much the same roster hoping to resign Monk or take a swing at a superstar. Kevin Durant will most likely be traded this summer. He has two years left & we can only afford him for two years then pay Fox. Do you think Monk comes back at 20 million per? We can't pay Monk & KD without going over the cap unless the Suns will eat some of KD's contract.

He could be eligible for a 5-year $345 million contract if he makes one of the 3 All-NBA teams this season.

Maybe get more shot attempts while maintaining or improving efficiency and he could get over 28 PPG from career-high 26.6 PPG last season.
Great individual achievement but probably not necessarily result in a deeper playoffs run than the team has been able to achieve.
IF he gets the super max extension it makes it tougher to improve the roster.
Unless that is the payroll goes well over the cap.
What has the ownership said about spending?

I try to lay off the subject as much as possible to not annoy the board as much, but since this was a wiretap story, and he hasn't been particularly sharp in the preseason, and I'm seeing this post...
The original number is an eyesore... I'm not sure Fox at his best, as in 2022-2023, should be commanding that on the cap, but I'm not sure what the roster implications would be.. That all nba number should be relegated to clear top ten type guys. However, given the improvement in guard and overall all-nba player potential depth since he eeked out that third team a couple years back, and the potential offensive improvements in DeRozan/Keegan/Keon/better bench etc, I'm not sure there is a pathway anyways.
So I'm curious if this is his agent, him, or the Kings. Did the Kings concretely make the offer? Either way, even before committing to the lower extension, I'm glad we will see another year before the commitment. He has some things to improve on like efficiency and consistency before committing to that lower extension as well, for me.

I like Fox but his side will lose a considerable amount of leverage if the Kings fail to make the playoffs again this season, imo.
