Cleveland receives: Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Jevon Carter & '24 frp (11th pick)
Chicago receives: Donovan Mitchell
Why?
Cleveland gets something good out of Mitchell.
Chicago does this as long as Mitchell agrees to an extension. They probably want to compete, hence why they do this trade.

Re: Cle/Chi
I feel like to avoid an offense that resembles a hydra fighting over a deer this would require a Zach LaVine trade for some expensive role players and at that point why wouldn't team #3 just prefer to deal with Cleveland for Mitchell?

Re: Cle/Chi
I hope Chi doesn't consider this.
We should be doing everything in our power to get rid of Lavine, Demar and Vuc and start somewhat fresh.
I don't see Mitchell as a No.1 option on a title competing team, so this would just put the Bulls on the same treadmill we are already on, albeit a slightly better one

Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team

Neither team considers unless Mitchell agrees to extend for the Bulls (which he won't). I like Coby White, but the Cavs don't need a handful of guards back in a Mitchell trade. We're already rotating Strus, Okoro, and LeVert at SF when all three are better at SG.

Re: Cle/Chi
So Cleveland trades Mitchell for what would be their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string point guards?

Re: Cle/Chi
I don't see how Mitchell Lavine really gets the Bulls to the playoffs. Do they keep Caruso to back them up or is Bitim your guy because trading 4 guards for 1 leaves the bench nearly empty. This doesn't do anything to address the needs in the front court. Do they resign DeRozan to have a big 3, or do they hang onto Patrick Williams to move to the SF and who and how do they find a PF, can they afford a backup for Vucevic or are they even keeping him> Then when you do get to the playoffs look at how many stars are missing the 1st 5+ games of the 1st round, while their teams lose. So what's the point of getting there but not advancing to the 2nd round because your bench guys come up short?

This is really missing a third team for Cleveland side. I guess you can flip Coby or Ayo later, but really shouldn’t do a half trade and lose the flexibility in matching...
But Mitchell makes very little sense for Chicago.. if Chicago was willing to pay the tax to run Vuc/Williams/Demar/Lavine/Mitchell - while finding a backup four and keeping Drummond/Caruso. That’s sort of a fun lineup and is a tough out.. but I can’t see them doing that, likely pushes them right up to the apron..

Cleveland will not get the value back in players for Mitchell. And they are in a pickle until Mitchell decides on the extension.
If Mitchell stays, the easiest trades are Garland to NOP.
Garland to NOP for Nance, Murphy, Jones, 25 FRP, and 26 FRP. Gives Cleveland enough players to warrant losing Garland who could put the Pelicans another step closer.
Any deal has to include FRPs between 25-29 since Cleveland has 0.

Why would Mitchell extend in Chicago but not in Cleveland
