We talk about PG and Harden needing to earn their next contract but what about Lue? What the hell has he done to earn anything?

I'm sick of this team, "stars" and "coach." Two straight years of this trash product and nothing's changed. We all know deep down they're going to win Game 6 and then get blown out in Game 7 for maximum misery. It will be the perfect excuse for Ballmer to run it back again next year with no changes, because we were "competitive without Kawhi."

I saw the writing on the wall after the first half and turned it off. I'm in a much better mood now lol

Plumlee is not the reason we are playing like garbage. It's our 2 stars and also that guy who's always in street clothes on the bench during playoff time.
I hear you bro but when I made that comment we were only down by 3. Lue is really stubborn not to Theis at all in this series.
And yes don’t even get me started on PG and Harden and no show Kawhi.

terrible time to throw a clunker in- weird how a team can be red hot from 3 in one game and then unable to sink one in the next game.
They also should have made adjustments to cover Kleber when he started lighting it up- that's when the game started to get away from them- I know you have to pick your poison, but they weren't even making an effort to contest his 3s.

Mavs lost 2 games with no-shows in first halves of those games will be the reason we extend PG and Harden more than they should have deserved and it sucks.

How do you even defend Ty Lue after these kind of comments? It's the first round of post season, not the first 10 games of the regular season. But yea, having Russ stand in the corner and shoot 3s makes sense.

Re: RD 1 GAME #5: MAVS [2-2] @ LAC [2-2] WED 5/1 7 PM, TNT
pretty much only caught 2nd-4th quarters so i can't speak much about the first one.
this was one of those "everything that can go wrong, will go wrong" games, it felt like. i'm reticent to put too, too much blame on harden or PG, though i'm sure others would disagree. but to me, this one was a tale of the role players being either mediocre to abysmal, and it started with westbrook who was abominable every single time he touched the ball. and that started a cascading effect where the game went from "ok we just need to stop the bleeding" to "uh, this is pretty bad to "ok, this is mega-yikes."
the team would have been in decent shape by the start of the 4th except for plumlee's abomination (i like that word) of a foul at the end of the 3rd that pretty much took all the momentum away from the team - and imo that was where the game likely ended. sadly that was just one of a few of his and some of the other role players' team-killing errors and when you add that all up, it's just too much to come back from.
plumlee was a big thing for us last year and this year has not been the case. i'd like to see theis get some play time, but unfortunately, he's unlikely to be good enough to change much all by himself, so complaints about lue going to rarely-used players to try something new don't hold water for me - especially when he threw tucker in who did an admirable job of playing D and rebounding, in addition to his typical aversion of zero offense. i mean, one guy just isn't gonna matter when pretty much everyone is playing like dorks while their counterparts are unstoppable (kleber shooting like he's steve novak out there for one thing).
but yeah i agree with what was mentioned earlier. burn the tape and prepare to go all out in dallas, because this one was fated to be a loss. then pray for kawhi to make a miraculous recovery. pray that westbrook turns his series around and starts to contribute like an actual impact role player who isn't a disaster every time he touches the ball. pray that plumlee (or theis) play like passable bigs. but meanwhile, lower the expectations because if we lose, it's not like the team was supposed to be favored with kawhi out anyway.

Forget whatever the Mavs did on their end. Superstars PG and Beard were 6-25. 24%. Plus we had to start Coffey, who was 1-7. Then add in Westbrook's 2-11. 9 for 43. 21%.
Game over.
Game over.

Everybody knows Westbrook is playing terrible- he’s just trying to take the heat off of him.
If he keeps playing like this, maybe Hyland should get his minutes though

Had a bad feeling about this one, so I only watched the 10 minute highlights after waking up. Best decision ever.
Turns out we might not have swept the Mavs if we just sat out Kawhi for the entire series, but him playing hurt (especially in G3) wasn't great either. That entire situation is such a bummer.
Ty should have quit Plumlee while he was ahead, but can't really blame a backup big when so much else went wrong.
Russ still brings other stuff to the table, but it's tough seeing him be just a more athletic John Wall (the Clippers version) on offense.
PG and Harden are what they've always been, inconsistent playoff performers. Just wish they wouldn't both crap the bed at the same time.
Don't think the series is over yet and we're probably not getting blown out again, but right now I'm leaning towards a painful close loss in either G6 or G7.
Being a Clippers fan is definitely an experience.

I was in attendance for yet another sh*t show at home. How do you play like this and lose by 30 at home in a playoff game? This is beyond comprehension! If its over on Friday just give me a Kawhi(40 games a season at best), Bones, Zu, Kobe Brown, BBJ, Kai Jones, G Leaguer team. I don't even care anymore. Get a new coach as Lue probably wants to join his buddy Bron and the Lakers and go full Klutch Sports anyways. Westbrook, Coffey, and Plumlee just isn't happening. The pressure is on Dallas on Friday but even if we were to win that game who trusts us to play well on Sunday for a game 7 at home? And we blindly signed Kawhi for three more years??? Wow!! Unbelievable
