Her main point was Brunson wasnt a 1a dude and too small............Well hes been the best player in an entire conference, should prolly be All Nba 1st team, 2nd team at worst...........and hes now outplayed Mitchell 2 times in playoffs, outplayed Cp3, outplayed Jimmy and outplayed Embiid and Maxey in a playoff series...........if Brunson "isnt that dude" for a championship contender then neither is Mitchell, Cp3, Jimmy, Embiid etc
Outplayed Jimmy feels a bit much, but Jalen certainly went toe-to-toe with him last year.
Its what happened tho.........Brunson was the best player on the floor most the series and most the games but Bam was just by far 3rd best player of the series and dominated Randle. Heat also had better depth w/ Strus, Lowry, Caleb, Vincent, Love.........Knicks didnt have Donte yet or Og (whos much better than Rj Barrett who was meh)
Jimmy
25,7,6,2,1 on .552ts and 8 turnovers
Brunson
31,6,6,1 on .632ts and 11 turnovers
Jimmy came up with as many, if not more big momentum shifting plays in that series, so it's not as simple as those #s. Especially given Butler's defensive advantage. And RJ wasn't meh in that series even if you're meh on him as a prospect, neither was Grimes who we still had at the time, Robinson, Hartenstein, or Hart.
Quickley was pretty meh and Randle was inefficient (just 53% TS in the series), but he still moved the ball well and his presence sucked Bam out of the paint for Brunson & Barrett to attack the rim. Butler didn't have anyone taking defensive attention off of him the way JuJu drew out Adebayo...especially with his shooters going pretty cold that series.
