Yeah, NGL, I thought he was missing one. He looked pissed the ref called a foul right before giving the ball to Brunson.
I thought he was more upset that hart wasn't able to catch and finish a layup - maybe upset at himself for not making a better pass.
SelbyCobra wrote:There was nothing illegal about that Brunson/Batum foul. Nothing. Batum was following him entirely too close, at full speed, and not ready for him to pull up. Brunson quite literally took a normal stop and pop shot. He didn't jump backwards in any way at all. In fact, he continued forward a bit if anything. Batum just defended it poorly by giving himself no room to make adjustments, and clearly fouled him.
It's crazy that Sixers fans are so furious that they believe an obvious shooting foul, on a clear mistake by their guy, is somehow Trae Young/Steph Curry jumping into the defender in an unnatural direction.
yup the whole "he jumped backwards" narrative is nonsense. he is using the defender's out of control momentum to make them pay as he jumps STAIGHT UP.

Their speed up and down will be a problem but this is the playoffs and if anyone can slow it them down, we can.
Playoff time and the game usually slows down. A messed up Bucks team held them under 100 twice. If we can hold them under 110 points or so, we should be ok.
OG will probably be on Siakam and Deuce/DDV will be on Hali. I like both matchups. Maybe OG at times on Hali.
I wonder if Precious would do the best on Turner? Mitch not so good on the outside but Turner ain’t quick. IHart might do ok on him.
Interesting matchup.
It depends a lot on whether we can impose our offensive rebounding on them. They’re not a great rebounding team - if they’re forced to throw multiple people at the boards and box them out, they can’t run as well.
this is a great point - if we are killing them on the boards they won't be able to leak out as much but that goes both ways. if they're hurting us in transition we could look to not send as many to the boards.

They’re also forgetting that batum was grabbing the jersey too.

Felt like last game we were willing to live with w/e Bumbiid did and were more focused on containing Maxey in the PnR, not letting him get a clear and easy lane to the hoop. Embiid kept getting that deep spot out of the PnR for his easy mid ranged J

Rewatching the 2nd half right now, man.. OG was doing EVERYTHING out there. Josh was doing EVERYTHING out there, chasing Buddy around like a man possessed, getting offensive boards setting up OG, etc.

Total margin - Knicks +1
Embiid on the floor PHI +47
Embiid off the floor PHI -46
This series just could not be any closer
So they are almost as good as us without our 3 time AllNBA Allstar...
Their MVP all NBA 1st team C also couldn't blink
Let's not get full ourselves. We fought. We won. We earned it. It doesn't have to be anything more than that for it to be satisfying
...but having a 65% Embiid for 2 games and then an 85 percent Embiid the rest of the way is a major advantage over having a totally missing Randle, Miss Bogs for 2-3 games, Missing Mitch for a game . We were the most compromised team by far but we should be humble?

Since Buzz has already kicked Tobias to the curb, I'll give a half-hearted defense of him (only because he's a Long Island boy who comes from a nice family). He only got 2 shots during those 30 minutes. So how about Nick Nurse calling some plays for him on a switch to a guard?

I’m proud of the team and Thibs for how they responded to the game 5 collapse. Shows heart and grit.

The team is overachieving ever since Randle and OG went down. The energy level and urgency on the court are on another level.

its all over twitter now
but we forced maxey left the entire game. maxey only had 1 or 2 drives with his right hand, everything else was left
DDV took the assignment, executed it, and played 48mins

It's really nothing. He goes up to shoot with a guy behind him. lol.
Hartenstein was slapped as hard as possible by Embiid and made the 2. They would have called a foul if he missed but the game could have been decided by a point. Absurd. No way Hartenstein gets away with that the other way.
