We can't even score the amount of points we need to close the gap they have now, tbh

Damn it, we are 3 years into total rebuild, what kind of moves you wanted and for what??? We are not contenders yet regardless.Fortune Teller wrote:Welt slept through draft night and the trade deadline. Just think what this team could’ve been with a GM that acknowledged this backcourt is simply not good enough to compete.

Re: 2024 NBA Playoffs Round 1 Game 7: (5) Orlando Magic at (4) Cleveland Cavaliers - Series Tied 3-3
Hey, great year guys. Let's get this loss within 5 points before the year is over. I'll put surprisingly short thoughts on why we lost this one, and there was echos of it in other games this series. I don't need to make the post any longer because I talked about these exact things in more detail in the last GT's. I thought CLE was smart to try some lineup adjustments the last 2-3 games too, I think it worked.
So defensively, we started letting CLE get some speed and looseness in their offense with some transition possessions and allowing an increased pace. It opened their shooters up indirectly, with the pace of the game increasing. Same thing I’ve always said too, everything is planned on purpose on defense but we still leak some defense with Wendell who looks smaller than Paolo out there. Besides the transition, faster pace with small openings for CLE shooters, we started fouling too much as well. Also, for JI being so important for us in the year, we never made adjustments to the adjustments and tried to use him better on defense (like creatively trying to switch assignments mid-possession with Wendell so JI can play the pseudo-anchor again), who also would have been a big tool for offensive boards and 3 point shooting. We practically played the Playoffs like JI isn't coming back at this point.
On offense, it’s the same thing I’ve always said. We barely practiced Suggs leading offensive possessions in the reg season. And not just Suggs, but other players will also take precious shot clock seconds away before giving it up to Franz and letting him point forward. Franz is 5 AST to 0 TO at the beginning of the 4th quarter. But instead he gets the ball at 7 seconds left too often. I was a proponent of shooting the first chance you’re open but Suggs was doing some of these shots after going 200 mph on defense or getting an offensive board, etc. Like not just him, but some of our players had a few shots that were a touch too rushed and tired instead of resetting to like Franz or Paolo. I also didn't like that we never staggered Franz and Paolo enough to always have one of them out there, and we're at 40+ minute games here so it's really not that hard to make happen, because it helped cause the superpower of our bench to crater in the last two games or so.

Franz was unbelievably bad offensively, so no one is noticing how awful he was on the defensive end too. He gave no effort, was out of position and did everything he could to avoid contact. Disgusting game. Pathetic.
If you see something suspicious, say something suspicious.

Max Strus strapping you 1 on 1 all Game 7, is ridiculous
He had 4 fouls at the start of the 3rd, he shouldnt even be playing right now. Shoulda been got him fouled out by now

What's even more disappointing is that it's not even Mobley that's shutting down Franz, he's getting locked up by MAX **** STRUS

Three years? Try 12, literally.
It's why the frustration level is so high. Repeatedly failing the rebuild, as we've done, doesn't reset the timer. This latest attempt is the best yet, we just need some obvious moves to push it over the top.
