Joker needs to get better in the offseason. Hes not showing the love of the game, that the other goats have

Jokic is averaging 30/15/10 during these playoffs. He's the literal only bright spot on a team that would otherwise win 12 games in a season.

As I said on social media - he should request a trade to Boston and Denver should appease him for having put them on the map.

And Denver should show him that the goats play both ends

Joker is basically brett Favre out there keeping both teams in the game
Stop being so disrespectful.

4 of the next 5, only 5 games left max.

My bad I can't count.

Yep, Malone was mumbling to himself basically the whole game.

Clearly Malone needs Darvin Ham on his coach staff to settle him down lmao

Mavs swept them and won the NBA title that season (upset the Heat).

How do you upset another when you are the better team?

Mavs-Houston back in the artest days I believe. Mavs lost first 2 at home, won next two on the road, lost the fifth game at home, won the next game on the road, the finally won first home game in game 7.

Mavs were the underdogs in that series, and every series.

Objects in mirror are closer than they appe...

... And Nuggets have been passed.

And have run out of gas.

And are stuck on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere with no cell service to call for help.

And now it's past midnight and all they hear are wolves howling in the dark.

People don't appreciate how big looking Bruce Brown and Jeff Green is, especially with Deandre Jordan and Reggie Jackson getting a year older. Denver has zero depth, it is a serious problem.

Part of it is by design. The cap just squeezes good teams and brings them back down the earth. Denver has $135m tied up in Jokic, Murray, MPJ and Gordon. Once you put a team together, you have a small window where your team is developed and talented enough to win, but also not so top heavy with contracts that you can't fill out your starting lineup and bench.

Minnesota is a year or two behind Denver with the same problem. Let's say they win the chip this year, they've got so much money tied up in their top 4 that it'll be difficult to keep key pieces like Reid and NAW. Even Gobert will be hard to retain beyond next season unless he takes a huge paycut.

I'd argue it might be harder to stay a champion than to become a champion.

This always seems to be missed when talking about team building and teams making runs.

The Nuggets aren’t deliberately making their bench ****.

The cap makes it so you’re always going to have more depth early in the midst of a run.

You’ve got draft picks on cheaper contracts, potentially players who signed at a discount and then you’ve got star players whose deals will increase.

Defending Champs losing is always an upset. They hold the belt. It is like that in every sport.

Seriously. Really weird playoff schedule. Denver/Minny not only played the day before the Cavs series ended, they also played 2 games before the Mavs series has even started

These extra days can really help Denver reset. Going to be interesting.

2023 was definitely the weakest the West has been in the 21st century

Yeah I’m not throwing shade or anything but throughout history there’s plenty of teams that don’t repeat and it’s because things fell right for them in that season they did won and there’s a big target on their back the next season.

To win back to back chips you have to be incredibly good. The Duncan Spurs couldn’t even manage it.

Last season was a bad year for the NBA (IMO). This doesn't take anything away from the Nuggets title, but a lot of injured teams (Bucks, Grizz) when it mattered the most. This season has been much better as far as game play and great teams.

I don't think I've seen a more shocking first 2 games of a series than this. This type of thing usually happens to the old champion that has made a couple runs and are now setting out to pasture, but for it to happen to a fairly young team that was good all season is crazy. There were no hints or signs that this could be coming.
