The Defense
Nash on Paul
Bell on Richmond
Carter on Tatum
Gobert on Amare
Marion on Horford
I feel like this is the best use of my team here defensively.
I know that Paul and Amare will be pick and roll hunting on Nash, best way for me to defend that is with one of the greatest bigman defenders of all time being in the action.
Nash will go over the screens, Gobert will drop.
Amares lack of Range will not drag Gobert out of the paint so he can be there to disrupt everything off that pick and roll combo. Even Richmond spent a good amount of time inside the paid with 33% of his shots coming from the midrange. This will muddy things up with Bell in there in his face and Gobert patrolling the paid.
Marion is going to defend Tatum here and just be in his face the entire game. Marion is perfectly built to defend Tatum and make him as inefficient as possible. Marion is a monster defender.
Going togo a little off center here, no pun intended, and Put Vince on Horford. This is peak, prime athletic vince who defended with 2.6 stocks per game average. Vince has everything needed to make this version of Horford be contested on his 33% of shots from three, and I know Horford will want to post him up, but I want that. I want Al Horford in the paint, with Amare, With Mitch in the midrange, with Bell, and more notable, Gobert in there with them. Those are not easy baskets for Horford.
Offense is great on my side with clear defined roles and one of the goat at making an offense hum.
a Nash, Vince, Marion and Bell break out and run speed type offense is ludicrous.
And having one of the greatest of all time at setting screens and having a standing reach of 7-9 for Nash to put the ball into his hands with spacing around them in a slower offense is nuts.
Also having all of Bell, Marion and Vince being capable secondary playmakers give me so many options.
Also have clear roles off the bench on my team with a rim runner in Andersen, A gaurd who defends, makes threes and can take it to the rim, and an elite knock down shooter of the pullup or off a screen or set.
