It's been floating around for days. Falcons actually made it happen.

Thoughts?

Right after our pick I believe Denver, Minnesota, or Oakland would have drafted him. He wasn't going to be around much longer.

Kirk Cousins has always been consistent but he's not an MVP caliber QB. I hope he gives us two good seasons.

Well another horrible draft for the Falcons.

This is why, in the last 10 years, the Falcons have the worst draft record of all of the NFL teams. Falcons have the fewest pro bowlers drafted. Falcons just don't have a clue when it comes to player evaluations and decision making.

Penix and Dallas Turner will forever be linked. If Turner ends up having a 100 sack career, it will just be another embarrassment in a long line of draft embarrassments for the Falcons.

Penix will have to make serval pro bowls and 1 super bowl to make this pick look half way competent

Penix is a big gamble of unknown when we needed to build more for the present and future.

Our Falcons are favorites to win the Division. All parties involved that support the Falcons need a llayof home game to occur. It's been far too long.

I sure hope Penix is everything our front office believes he's going to be. I'm relying on a GM that's just ok and a head coach that has a below .500 record.

Falcons GM’s right-hand man has terrible QB track record

Let’s just look at what he did with the Bears from 2015 to 2021.

In 2017, Pace signed Mike Glennon and drafted Mitch Trubisky. The notable prospect Chicago passed on? Patrick Mahomes. Trubisky experienced some success under Matt Nagy but ultimately failed to live up to expectations.

The UNC product was the 2nd overall pick following a trade where the Bears sent the 49ers two third-rounders and a fourth-round pick to move up one spot. Trubisky went 29-21 before Chicago allowed him to walk in free agency.

In 2021, Pace signed Andy Dalton and drafted Justin Fields. The latter was just traded for a bag of footballs this offseason while Dalton’s stint was quite forgettable.

Fields was once thought to be the franchise quarterback but was traded after just three seasons in Chicago. He completed about 60% of his passes for less than 170 yards per game with 40 touchdowns and 30 interceptions during that time where he posted a record of 10-28.

I still hate the pick but on the college level, Penix reminds me of Marino or Warren Moon. The ball really just zips out of his hands
