Franz extended 5/175 and Suggs extended 4/100.

Klay signs 3/100 with the third year a team option (aka 2/65) so his money comes off the books before Paolo's kicks in.

Magic don't trade anybody else.

Not gonna happen. I'll bet my lunch money of 1/8 a bag of black beans on it.

I'd be okay with punting this offseason until next year. Give Gary, Harris, Ingles, Isaac, and maybe bring in Batum all on 1 year deals. That would give us plenty of trade options during the season.

I think Simons would give us the best chance at having another 20 ppg scorer.

It's the path of least resistance and our front office is notoriously path of least resistance prone.

Well I hope Suggs makes a huge point guard leap or this team will have the same issues as last year. I don’t think anyone can convince me that Klay Thompson is 2x Gary Harris. He is better no doubt with his quicker release and length but percentage wise they are very similar. At least Paul George would give us some more play making.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Klay is probably 10x Harris. He's still one of the best shooters and floor spacers in the league while Harris is a 3rd rate 3&D player.

adding Klay and ignoring the whole void of playmaking and skill to running an offense would be sickening. Also think it's funny that people think this FO would even entertain the idea of overpaying for Klay
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Klay is more proven shooter and also someone who has the ability to impact the game without needing to touch or handle basketball all that much.

If the goal, for better or for worse, is to keep the ball in Paolo and Franz's hands offensively and to keep developing them as primary facilitators, then Klay is the most seamless fit to that.

It isn't what I would do, but it feels like the most likely choice at the moment.

I'm not sure the front office sees it the same way we see it.

I think it's at least possible that they want Paolo and Franz to continue to be the primary facilitators in the halfcourt.

We'll just have to see.

Kinda gross.

Starting lineup defense takes a massive step back.

Also, Suggs is not a point guard. You think Jett gets priority minutes over Houstan?

Klay Thompson solves one issue in shooting (which has fallen off) and the playmaking doesn't improve. Will be interesting to see how far Klay's numbers drop not being next to Curry every single minute.

I mean Suggs wasn't a point guard this year either, but he "played PG" in name only for the majority of the season anyway.

Think of it more like, Paolo and Franz are the defacto point guards, but Suggs defends opposing PGs.

Basically take what the Magic had down the stretch this season over the last 2+ months, only stick Klay in Gary's spot and Black in Fultz's spot.

They could also keep Ingles in this situation too since they could fit Klay into their cap space without declining Ingles' option.

I do think Klay could potentially help the offense and show the young players how to win and shoot. Dante DiVicenzo spent 1 season with the Warriors, and now he's putting up 15 3s per 100 possessions, the same as Klay. Could he potentially teach our young guys how to spread the floor and to keep raining 3s?

Klay is what he is. He can still shoot the ball at a high level.

I would prefer to go another direction and actually bring in some ball handling and playmaking, but I understand the thought process behind signing him.

If the Magic's front office is totally dead set on keeping things as close to status quo as possible, Klay seems like one of the most reasonable fits.

3 years / $100 million for a 34 year old on their decline. Yeah.... I'd rather not take that chance. That's the type of move that can handicap a teams future. But I'm not sure if the reward is worth that much of a risk.

Malik Monk at least I can see having a new gear with new opportunities. For me.... The best of klay Thompson is probably in the rear view mirror. Not that i wouldn't want him.... It's just at what cost.

Does TRAE YOUNG want to come to Orlando? So I just watched a FanDuel video on YouTube covering the topic of if Paolo Banchero can be the leader on a contending team. Orlando’s own Chandler Parsons was on there and talking about the Magic and threw out names like Brandon Ingram and Paul George as pieces that would fit the team. Interestingly they flashed up a tweet from Trae Young that read,”Mannn I love Paolo game!” Anyone see that tweet (or X whatever it is ) and brought it up? Could Trae possibly be throwing it out there he’d like to play alongside Paolo?
