That's the key - patience. Players are going to come available with the new cap taking effect.

Two more team-controlled years on his deal. If he truly is a bust and the jumper just isn't going to happen, we could always decline team option and let him go.
Agree. I think we need to do more of this kind of thing, finding potential diamonds in the rough as opposed to always paying after someone else has 'unearthed' the diamond. That's an example of the 'hard work' I'd love to see Morey, Nurse, and Co. do in rebuilding this roster instead of taking the lazy "pay the third star" route.

I see you turned the salary cap off in this scenario lol.
Not to mention that DLo and Maxey would be a horrific defensive backcourt. Can’t have those 2 on the court at the same time for extended periods of time
MoeGreene wrote:For sure, no cap as this is just a bunch of players I would pick for the role. Pick 3.
The problem is, there is no real PG as a free agent that is ok. Its either Russell or Fultz, that's it.
Also, there is no real SG that is worth the money. So, I would rather go with another distributor on offense and hope for the best on defense with Nurse's ideas.PhillyFan11 wrote:MoeGreene wrote:Needs PG or SG / 2 SFs / PF / Backup C

CHI gets Harris (S&T 4-100), McCollum, and rights to player drafted at 16
NOP gets Melton (S&T 3-45), Reed, 26 LAC/OKC/HOU 1st, and 28 LAC 1st
PHI gets Caruso, Ingram, and Collins
UTA gets LaVine

Yea I do dat. A tad short in the shooting problem but doable.
Does Utah do it?

I hear ya, but guards that are at least 6’4 that can distribute, shoot, and play D don’t exactly grow on trees.

$10-15M left to spend + the exception-
Sign Taurean Prince and Drummond with cap space.
Keep Oubre with exception
Murray
Maxey
Prince/Oubre
Collins
Embiid/Drummond
I’d feel pretty good about that top 7. Just need to find 3-4 vet mins that can be solid 12 min a night contributors.

Those are the kinds of moves I can get behind. What are the FA options other than Prince?

Free agent forwards that are going to get less than 12ish mil are pretty limited. Kyle Anderson, Royce O’Neale, Derek Jones Jr, Gordon Hayward…maybe stretch it with a smallish lineup and go with Gary Trent Jr or Gary Harris. Buddy I guess is still an option too.

Jones, Jr. and Anderson are very viable options.
