Re: Rudy Gobert DPOY
Yeah Wemby is not there yet his defensive impact was huge this year but it wasn’t consistent and the team defense was horrid. Team should be better and Wemby should be more consistent next year.
Rudy is definitely the DPOY and he also has the benefit of Minny having a narratively good defense.

He will win it some day but he's exactly where he should be for now

Congratulations to Rudy. Well earned.

But I still cling to hope and I believe in love
And that's faith enough for me.

Twitter is having a field day with this. Majority of the comments under every post regarding this announcement are saying Wemby was robbed. Twitter knows ball.

Love it! Well deserved - Anyone watching the Wolves this season would know the defensive impact he had on us being where we are now

Very well deserved. He was the best from day 1 of the season

If it was defensive player of the second half of the season it might have been a race.
Wemby came on very slow to begin the season. Gobert was the best literally from game 1 of the season.
It's a season award, not the last few months of the year award

Re: Rudy Gobert DPOY
I continue to believe AD is the best defensive player in the world but Gobert was awesome this year. I don't know if he really improved in this area this season or if he's always been good at this and I just never knew/noticed, but he held up really well on switches too.
Wemby will have at least 2 or 3 of these before he hangs them up.

I don't understand what the Nuggets are doing.... Don't they know that they can just pay Gobert off the court?!?!?

Be curious to see the all defensive teams. Top 2 here is fine but all defence voting is about as bad as it gets.

Meanwhile the Spurs dropped from the #4 ranked Defense in the league when Wemby was on the floor to #28 (!!) when he sat lol. That’s insane. Wemby also lead the league in Blocks & Stocks by a HUGE margin, as well as Steals for a Center, lest we forget.
Yep. Wemby was best defensive player IMO, while Gobert was the best defender on the best defensive team. Kind of like the best player not always getting MVP due to team record.

Re: Rudy Gobert DPOY
Well deserved and congrats to him! He's a major part of why the Wolves defense is so good.
Listening to Finch's post game yesterday, he made it sound as though Rudy has been the driving force behind the team buying in to playing defense and convincing them how good the team would be by their defense.
Despite the many false narratives about him, it's nice to know the voters know the truth.

When your conclusion is that Twitter knows what it's talking about, you can take that as a sign you have lost your way.
