Jrue was so freaking SOLID in the first round. Chasing Herro around over Bam screens every game for 30 minutes. His hands on defense were spectacular as always. And he made smart decisions consistently with the ball and on offense.
There are ups and downs with Jaylen (and to a lesser extent Jayson). They're unstoppable players when they're on. But they have their valleys, especially Jaylen. Having some supporting guys who are just steady and low-maintenance, to absorb their variance, goes a long way. I love Marcus, but he's a rollercoaster himself, and you can see how Jrue's more even shifts during swings in the game complement the Jays better.

By the tiniest of margins (33-32), Al Horford started more regular season games than he came off the bench for.
Banned temporarily for, among other sins, being "Extremely Deviant".

Hehe I always knew Al was going to be a starter this year.

That makes him technically a Starter.

Which is what people said at the beginning of the season. The Celtics have six starters.

Underrated part of Brad Stevens' team-building strategy is not acquiring/committing to players who cause unnecessary drama. Or if they become a distraction, his quick response of shipping them out or not retaining them without a second thought. He really values team chemistry and locker room harmony.

Kevin Pelton/ESPN puts the Celtics in a tier of their own (Tier 1 obviously). Tier 2: Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves

Kevin Pelton had Scottie Barnes over Jayson Tatum as a starter in the all star game this season. He didn't have any other Celtics making the team but now they are an unstoppable juggernaut. Sure that makes total sense.

Butler should take the minimum in Boston to get back at Miami for this terrible offense.

One of the Celtics' season greatest accomplishments has been Jaylen Brown's overall improvement. Basically went from knuckelhead to a stud, gotta give him credit.

I think Tatum played a good game last night (G2 vs CLE) and given Joe's system he's hardly at a fault for the loss. Having said that, I've been wanting to say for a while that it seems clear at this point that Brown is a better 2nd option than Tatum is a first, if that makes sense.

We might sneak for a ring this year because of our overwhelming talent, but Tatum's second half of the season has frustrated me, as Brown used to do to me way more often.

It makes sense as JT is not yet at his full potential.
He needs one more summer to get stronger and fully develop his body.
But expectations for the Cs are already too high.
