He hasn’t done **** either but get a favorable draw last year

You can use statistical backflips like this to justify just about anything. This is downright silly.

And that’s without even mentioning that you’re using playoff stuff to argue a regular season award.

Of course using playoff success to argue Luka over Jokic is silly too.

So you’re kind of pulling a hat trick here.

The other guy brought up the playoffs first, I simply responded.

Yes, its a regular season award and the Nuggets were very underwhelming compared to the hype they received about becoming a potential dynasty off their soft touch finals win last year. They mostly sleepwalked through the season which is kind of reflective of Jokics overall attitude towards basketball.

I felt SGA and Luka seasons were more impressive when you consider everything. They exceeded expectations set out for them this year.

The original post I quoted said he was about to be swept. You brought up the playoffs first. Probably didn’t think it through.

Shai or Luka should have gotten it, and if Embiid was healthy it would have been unanimous.

This was more of a most healthy award than anything else.

Wow so original. What I'm saying actually would have been true lol.

Guys, the MVP is a regular season award and his team absolutely sucked compared to how well they performed in the standings.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

Embiid will never be healthy or not choke in the playoffs so the hypotheticals dont really carry any weight here

Joker will continue to dominate the PER stat and that will give him 8 MVPs in the end

Might be the worst take I've ever seen on here

Embarrassing

You knew here? There are plenty worse takes exceeding the absurd.

More like 3 in a row for Embiid if he were healthy.

We went through this how many times in the last 4 years. No stats back up Embiid other than ppg. Not in games won on court or playoff games. Nothing. Keep it up. I love those salty tears

Except for straw poll results which all had EMbiid in the lead, or very close prior to each one of his injuries. At the very least it would be far closer and you know it.

But Embiid wasn’t healthy. And this isn’t some one-off thing—he’s rarely healthy throughout the regular season (not to mention virtually never healthy in the playoffs). The annals of sports are filled with guys who were great but couldn’t stay healthy, and those guys rightfully don’t win awards or go down as the greatest players, because those accolades are not about hypotheticals.

Arguably the most dominant ever and only one regular season MVP to his name. All his ATG center peers got 2+ but him lol.

Shaq has only himself to blame for this, he would have had more MVPs if he wasn't so lazy during the regular season in his peak years.

This is true.

Would be interesting to put together a top 10 in history of what could have been in history. Not college players like Sam Bowie, or Greg Oden. Players, who flashed a lot of impressive things prior to their demise.

You aren't really exposed when you lead your team to the championship a year before

Last year was the weakest finals win since 99 spurs. Cakewalk to finals only decent team they played was Suns who had just gutted their roster to get KD. Played 8 seed Miami in finals. History will view this title as low value and he won’t win another.

Well earned. That said, he’s officially on the chopping block for next season. They won’t give him the same leniency after this playoffs feels like

Again stats back it up jokic better than Embiid other ppg. Your tears taste so good. Keep them coming.

Never a doubt. Led in all key metrics despite having the lowest usage of the contenders.

Congratulations to Jokic, he'll go down as a top 10 player when it's all said and done.

But he won't be the goat, and this series is clear proof of it.
