Re: OT: Music Thread
She remains incredibly confusing. Absolutely god-awful live. She's as bad now as she was on SNL 12 years ago. Her show was made worse when she'd have singers who are way more talented sing along with her.
I would say I don't know why she's headlining Coachella, but it's 3:00 am CST and I was into the show because I like a lot of her songs.
The set:
?
West Coast
Doin Time
Summertime Sadness
?
Pretty When You Cry
Ride
Born to Die
?
? ?
?
?
?
?
Ocean Eyes (Billie Eilish song)
Video Games (w/ Billie Eilish)
? (some song with Jack Antonof)
?
Young and Beautiful
Missing songs:
National Anthem
Gods & Monsters
Radio
Dark Paradise
Money Power Glory
This Is What Makes Us Girls
Florida Kilos

I enjoyed the new MGMT album.

I like both the new MGMT and Vampire Weekend, but my favorites so far this year are probably "Tigers Blood" by Waxahatchee and "Where's My Utopia?" by Yard Act

Hedburg's "I went to a music store that specialized in hard-to-find records. Nothing was alphabetized" remains the top record store related bit of comedy, but this Conan set-piece is a strong second.

I tend to go through different moods where i kinda binge a certain genre for awhile and then move on to something else. And I love making a good Spotify playlist. The current one I’ve been binging and discovering new music for is some rhythm and blues, blues rock, soul, etc. from post 2000. Stuff like Michael Kiwanuka, Gary Clark Jr., The Dip, Welshly Arms, and Sonny Cleveland. Not sure what my next vibe will be but I tend to like pretty much all music.

Re: OT: Music Thread
Paste put out their Top 300 albums. "Songs in the Key of Life" at the top.
Stevie (who can see) on top. Which is great! HOWEVAH, it gets the least burn of his imperial classics at Chonestown HQ.
Truth be told, I play "Hotter Than July" more often.
Truth be told, "Hotter Than July" is a better album.

Interesting, dear boy. I shall listen to both "Hotter Than July" and "Songs in the Key of Life" over the coming days and report back. Please stand by for further correspondence.
