Curious to see how Suns can maneuver with the current roster they have

He's a good coach but the Suns have roster strengths and weaknesses that make coaching less important IMO.

With KD and Booker you'll always have a pretty good offense just from getting them the ball and getting out of the way. Without a PG it becomes difficult to impossible to implement more of an offensive system that would have a chance to be great rather than just good. Lack of credible depth is going to hurt defense, injury coverage and consistency.

Honestly, I'm really good with the switch.

Does it change the roster? No, I suppose it doesn't. But it gets a better coach.
Now, to make the roster make any sense. {Trade Beal for parts asap...}

All I know is that $10M per is a lot of money for a coach and Jeanne Buss is not happy right now.

No one said it would solve ALL their problems.

But when the leaders of your locker room don't respect the HC, that is A major problem that needs addressing. This at least addresses that issue (at least temporarily) until Durant decides this above coaching.

He is probably a better fit for their roster than Vogel tbh.

There's no way he wasn't negotiating with Phoenix while Vogel was still the coach. Isn't that a **** thing to do? Why would they do that? My guess is they were gonna keep Vogel if Bud said no or couldn't agree. Just a **** way to treat an employee IMO

I mean I would do Wiggins plus for Beal if i was GS; let Klay walk and try with a new cheaper team. Or if money is no object with Chris Paul but ...

Beal's not awful, even if his contract might be.

We nabbed Monty in time.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Wiggins and Paul for Beal and filler?

I was thinking something like Wiggins, GPIII, Moody for Beal; with Paul cut and Klay signing elsewhere I think it works under the cap and GS can do: Curry/Beal/Kuminga/Draymond/Looney. Nice straddling of the now without surrending much of value and if the guards get hot and the defense is good, could be pretty exciting.

Phx gets ~10m cheaper this year, Wiggins as more of a glue guy, GP3 as a glue guy, and Moody as the 'incentive' to justify having given up on Beal after spending assets for him.

Zero interest in Beal and that contract.

What are the odds he actually lasts 5 years over there?

It's a better fit for the big 2.
They need a starting quality PG though. Booker can handle some of the playmaking, but he should also play off ball much more than he does.

It's a 5 year $50 million dollar deal. Even if it doesn't work out I can see why he said yes.
