Oh, those 2nds are guaranteed to convey. They’re just a “lesser of” two different second round picks each year. Indy keeps the better one and NY gets the worse picks.
And I think that wasn’t to do right by Obi. That was just his market value? Heading into the last year of a rookie deal, showed flaws, relatively highly paid as a lotto pick, etc. Chris Duarte went for a little better value of 2 2nds, but he had 2 years left on his rookie contract.
