I mean, unless we send Dejounte back to SAS and ask for the 2025 draft pick in return.
Isn't it more likely that Spurs offer pick #8 in this draft? Our their own pick?
I just don't believe in the whole pick back thing happening.
This plan is impossible, if ATL can't make the playoffs next season, they would give a lottery pick to SAS, and if they can't in 2026, SAS would swap their pick and get another one good pick instead of their own pick, and again getting another pick from ATL in 2027
It would almost look like ATL traded 3 first round picks, without even including the CHA's pick. Now, this one may never be a first round pick for SAS because if CHA is in the lottery again next season, SAS will in the end receive CHA 2nd round pick in 2026+2027
Regarding the value of Murray, I would not trade for less than 2 picks, for a simple reason: he's still young, and is in a better contract situation than when we traded for him. He cost more now, but less than a lot would have thought at first, including SAS (they certainly thought that he would ask for the Max).
If it's not with SAS, go find another team, but he's worth at least 2 protected first round picks.
