Who will sign Valanciunas ?
"I’d be pretty surprised if he was back because of how they were treating his spot in the rotation late in the season," said Will Guillory of The Athletic.
And for how much ?

Depends on his price, but I’ll bet the Sixers have interest. .Hes an upgrade from Reed.(backup center).

Every cap space team should give him the room exception w/o hesitation (OKC, DET, SAS), but he'll be angling for the MLE IMO, I'm not sure which MLE team will give it to him.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Re: Who will sign Valanciunas ?
If Presti is just keeping the roster together and paying Joe and trading Giddey…And Claxton doesn’t take their money… Jonas on one of those cute bloated 1+1 team option deals. But mix it up with the DLO deal, give him an extra couple million to waive the no trade clause. So say first year 22-24 mil? Leaves plenty of room to pay Joe and maybe Wiggins as well if you play rest of roster right.
Not the best offseason but one that makes sense.
If Golden State drops below the tax like most expect, you could give Jonas a multiple year MLE to be a regular season minute eater as he is so good at..

Cleveland makes sense, especially if they were to move Allen for a wing.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I’d hope the Warriors would offer him the MLE.

Sadly all the good teams will not want to spend money on him. I really think he is quality basketball player, but he ofc has his limitations. Noone wants to pay a backup 15 mils a season that is why he will probably end up on team like Wizards because they have money and no real option at center, and they are not going anywhere.

Memphis makes a lot of sense, actually.
They just need a big C for 22-24 mins. JJJ will play the other mins.
He already has connections to the franchise. This has to be the leading odds IMO.

I know you guys in Toronto love big centres who are useless in playoff, like Poeltl and JV. There is a chance for you to create another Twin Tower. Just keep Memphis out of these guys. We prefer the bigs who have both basic skills: finishing and defending.

Does he want to chase rings or get a payday?

I wouldn’t be surprised if LAL lands him on the MLE.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

I could see him going to a contender for less

I wouldn't have guessed, I'd swear they even gave Adams an extension while they were competitive

Would also look at Detroit and Charlotte. Charlotte probably limited to MLE, but makes a lot of sense as they try to get back to play-in I assume.
Assuming neither draft Clingan/Sarr

You are correct. Also had Dieng as a backup for some reason. I guess they are also alergic to centers that can rebound. But al least their fans are amazing at being obnoxious

I'd be pretty happy if Charlotte got him, assuming we don't draft another center. We need someone good for all the minutes Mark doesn't play
investigate Adam Silver

I like that..thinking about a ST, where Hornets send Richards?..NOP gets a backup shot blocker on a good contract and Hornets save a few million on Jonas contract

If I were Memphis I would simply trade for a center who can hit the 3 and anchor a D and win the title, like the Raptors did in 2019 with Marc Gasol.
Where's the D?
