Would be shocking if Bulls take Collier and if he goes that high.

Agreed. Givony is pretty bad with the draft stuff it seems.

That would really suck. He’s not even starter good. 3rd big good. At least he’s big. Which means Billy won’t play him.

I know we need size, but in the range that we are picking, I like Ja'Kobe Walter, quite a bit actually. His shooting form, and his stance and foot work getting to his spots is very impressive for someone as young as him. The knock is that he is still considered a streaky shooter, but again, his mechanics and footwork, and considering how young he is, I think he has the potential to be a big time bucket getter.
I have hunch that he will likely go before our pick though.

With Ayo and Coby on the team Collier doesn't make sense, but if they think he's the BPA then I can understand why they'd pick him.
I'm hoping Knecht is there at 11, but the only way I see that happening is if teams 6-9 prefer younger players.

Walter, Castle and Collier are absolutely not addressing Bulls’ needs, but if any one of them demonstrates star/elite traits, then you take them and move on from atleast 1 of our 3 guards.

I hope the Bulls don't reach for size. If they think a player like Walter is the BPA then pick him and don't overthink it.

A teams strength in a certain position ends up becoming a need before you know. it We are stacked in guards. But Caruso is expiring and is trade bait and Lavine is on the trade market. Lonzo is also expiring after opting in his player option. If a guard is BPA we should take one. A lot of interesting guard prospects should be in our range.
AKME? More like MEAK with how they're afraid to make a move to push us in one direction.

Agreed, you always go with BPA available, always. Plus, as much as I love Coby and Ayo, I have my reservations about either of them becoming legitimate stars. That's not to say Ja'Kobe Walter will be a star, but if you feel he has that potential, despite him being another guard, you have to take him and then make other moves accordingly to see what you have with him.
Above size, and positional needs, what this franchise is lacking is a YOUNG STAR PLAYER. They don't have to project to be a hall of famer, but we need legitimate young star quality, or potential star quality players to build around. Again, I say this, because I feel what I feel for Coby and Ayo, and besides those two, you then have Patrick who teases us with meniscal signs, but he is so far removed from being a star player, he isn't even worth mentioning. And then it really stops there as far as high potential players on this team, and for as mediocre we are, that's a really bad position to be in.
Why so serious?

This team doesn't have the luxury of drafting for 'need', you do that in FA.
Collier has some star potential, if he's BPA, then you draft him. Players like Coby and Ayo shouldn't stop you from drafting players at the same positions.
Go Bulls... I guess!? Right!?

I would be okay with the Bulls taking Collier. He has #1 pick upside and the Bulls don't have the team to draft for need. But knowing AK he will reach for Filipowski.

Zach must have more trading value than a #5 or #6 in a weak draft.
I doubt he has anywhere near that much value.
It's hard to know. There are many variables. A player's value is never static.
It depends on the Piston's strategy moving forward. Maybe they feel like they have enough young talent via drafting and now need veteran talent.
If that's the case, the next variable is what are other teams willing to offer this year for the #5 pick? Maybe it's less desirable than Zach... And maybe the Pistons like the way Zach would fit.
Do the Pistons want to go the Cavs route and add a vet to their young core? Or did they want to keep drafting like the Thunder?
As far as the Bulls are concerned, they need to start rebuilding through the draft IMO. Just get picks.
If the Suns can't overcome these young teams by adding KD and Beal to Booker, what do the Bulls realistically think they can accomplish through FA and trades for vets?

Filipkowski seems like the type of center the Bulls would want but AK has talked about drafting high upside players with early picks. My guess is they pass on him unless they really don’t like the draft class.

I dont really understand the issue of drafting a guard. I think a 3 guard rotation is ideal. Can constantly rotate Coby or Ayo into the 1 or 2 with the other guard playing the other. Gives everyone a breather. However, I'd hope they be able get a 4 or 5

All I can say is Dayuuum Detroit.
That is tanking worst case scenario of not getting #1 picks. They have had the worst record in each of the last 4 years and only got #1 once. But picked 5th 3 times in a now. That is crazy.
2020 20 wins pick 15 Sekou Doumbouya (released)
2021 20 wins pick 7 Killian Hayes (released)
2022 23 wubs pick 1 Cade Cunningham
2023 17 wins pick 5 Jaden Ivey
2024 14 wins pick 5 Ausar Thompson
2025 #5 pick
That is also 94 wins in 5 seasons. That is beyond painful.
They do have a lot of nice young players (Duren in particular) but it's no different than when we had Lauri, Dunn, Wendell and Coby. Sometimes when you are too young, you still don't go anywhere. It really does take actual luck with players.
