Simple trade: Pels/Bulls: BI+Daniels for Lavine+11

Post#1 » by mhd » Mon May 13, 2024 11:27 am

Simple trade:

Simple deal: Ingram+Dyson Daniels for 11+Lavine.

Why for the Pels?
1). They need to shake it up. With Zion, Jones, and Trey, they have they have their forwards set. Lavine is costly, but he's locked into his deal whereas BI is a pending FA that will be more expensive than LaVine. Plus, they get the 11th pick to take someone who fits better besides Zion.

Why for the Bulls?
1). They get something positive for LaVine. They can either continue on the treadmill and resign DeMar, or they pivot if need be. Daniels could also be a potential Carusso replacement as a defensive combo guard if Carusso is traded.

Take out Daniels and I doubt NO considers it. Why would they want to pay Lavine and CJ all that money at the same time?

If they plan to extend DDR...Ingram fits worse than Lavine, he doesn't contribute anything different, in my opinion, Lavine is a better player without the ball and a shooter...for NOP I don't like him too much either...with CJ/Hawkins/Murphy I don't see the point value of paying +40 to Zac...

Lavine and 11 feels light for Ingram ignoring the roster fit issues for NOP.

Maybe it could be Coby/Zach/?? for CJ/Ingram? Think it’s that far off.

Dyson > 11
Ingram > Lavine

This doesn't address the needs for the Pelicans. They need a spacing 5 and a true PG. Doubt they trade Ingram without getting any of those 2 back

Ingram coming in as the SF says goodbye to DeRozan, what do they get for him. He either makes Williams the PF which doesn't seem like the plan so he might as well go and the Bulls still don't have a PF. They also get Daniels and have even more TOO many guards. As bad a draft as some people want to make it out to be the if the Bulls are still in need of a PF they might as well draft #11 an get some youth that the really lack.

Didn't the Bulls try to move Lavine and the only team that showed even tepid interest was the Lakers? I'm open to explanation as to why a half season of Lavine not playing, and the Bulls playing better with him off the court, improved his trade value, but none has been provided.
