I'm not a fan of randomizing idea, too much luck. I would rather play no FGA draft than that.

I'd love us to run a draft with a significantly reduced FGA limit. Let's say 60 FGA or whatever. Haven't put much thought on the exact number. If it's not a popular idea, I'm happy with whatever you guys want.

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
I was thinking of a non NBA “summer league” draft but not sure where to find all those rosters.
What about a non playoff team draft? The bottom 14 teams we can draft from… pick a time frame

This seems easy.
why not just 2000s onward, maybe increase FGA to 90

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
I like it, but 60 does feel low. If you draft a bare Bones bench of 10 that leaves you with about $50 for your starting lineup. Then if you have just one star approaching 20 fgas you have got between 30 and 35. Fgas for the last four guys in your starting lineup less than 10 per starter.flaco wrote:I'd love us to run a draft with a significantly reduced FGA limit. Let's say 60 FGA or whatever. Maybe 68?

Feeling a bit of burnout.
Probably skipping the next couple unless an idea really grabs me.

Not exactly burnt out but losing interest lately. The games are dragging with only a handful of people participating. It's not enjoyable.

Yeah that could be it.

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
How about a draft of current players where you would be judged on your group as a franchise moving forward? You would have to consider age, health, and contract. You would be limited to players making a total 150M in 2024-25.

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
The "One Time" Draft (can probably come up with a better name): only players who have either won exactly one championship or appeared in one finals eligible
Kind of a weird pool but the talent seems to be there. If you go 80s to now:
Jokic
Howard
Ewing
Moses
Zo
KG
Giannis
AD
Dirk
Chuck
Tatum
Doc
Pierce
Harden
T-Mac
Booker
Reggie
Drexler
CP3
Kidd
Payton
Penny
Billups
May be worth doing after the season to see if any new names get added.

Bird (80s)

We can also make it "Won one time in a finals OR Lost one time in a finals". This will expand this a bit and add players like Hakeem, Duncan, Manu. My problem with the idea is that it takes some time to validate whether a player is eligible or not.

I don't think it's all that difficult. Obviously the champions you can verify from their BR pages, and even a lot of the finalists/runners-up will be common knowledge for regular drafters.

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
It seems less complicated if it's just 1x finalists, the star pool for that doesn't seem that bad though something would have to be done with the role players like not including all-stars. Or it's "one time or less" which would help both categories.

I prefer it as is.
Though to be fair, waiting until after the season could also very well remove players from this pool. Jokic stands out as a guy pretty likely to be removed from this list (sorry Wolves fans).

I agree with DB, tbh. You have to look up numerous players individually, though some I'd know.

Any game with a restriction beyond "random collection of franchises" is going to require looking up some players individually. You just suggested a game based around players playing 82 games (which I don't think is a bad idea BTW), and that's definitely going to require looking up almost all your players.
I still find it hard to believe it would be "numerous" players mind you. All the players I listed were from off the top of my head, and I would easily rattle off another couple dozen just by virtue of playing so many drafts in addition to being an NBA fan.

How about a Jordan and Lebron finals, team mates and opponents. Fairly good sized pool.

I like it, assuming we have enough alphas?

Trying to examine it, feels a bit light to my taste actually
