Re: Stephon Castle
It surely would have hurt his draft stock if those were his numbers. Anyone have a link to his actual numbers yet?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

6'5.5" without shoes (which puts him near 6'7" in shoes), 6'9" ws, 210 lbs. Excellent size for a combo guard.

Similar measurements to Jaime Jaquez, Cam Whitmore, Klay Thompson, Grant Williams, DeMar DeRozan, Miles Bridges, Devin Vassell.
Plenty of guys who have played a lot of forward.

That is a good size for him. I didn't anticipate he would be as big as that honestly. I was expecting a little smaller. More like Okoro.

UConn person here so i am bias but…
Kid is as stud. Shooting needs to get better, but his passing, vision and finishing ability are elite.
He is defensively ready to play in NBA. Reminds of maybe a more explosive Jrue Holiday. That’s how he is going to play. I don’t think he is a superstar level player, but I think he could make a couple of all-star teams if he progresses and gets into right situation.
Just in case you are wondering….absolutely love big man as an nba player,

I honestly would be looking at him if I were the Hawks at #1.

I think he needs to go to SA with Clingan perhaps headed to the Rockets, who as a team have had
lots of bigs in their team history.

Re: Stephon Castle
As an ORL fan, I was hoping to see them trade out of the draft in a package for a vet like Simons or Murray....the more I look at Castle, I now hope ORL aggressively trades up in the draft for him. Fierce, big, physical defender who can play "enough" PG to complement Paolo & Franz (in a few years). He doesn't directly address ORL's shooting needs, but he can improve and ORL can address that in FA market or trades.
He makes me think of Dejounte Murray or, even...a fully functional, bigger Markelle Fultz with Jimmy Butler's attitude. He and Suggs, along with Anthony Black, would be a ferocious POA defensive trio...ORL can add a Monk or Simons to goose the offense. Fultz just won't even try to shoot, ORL just needs enough of a backcourt threat at Lead Guard to open things up for the big forwards.
Mocks this year are all over the place...not even sure how high they'd have to move and what it would take.

Re: Stephon Castle
The argument 'he was a #1 option in HS' is not very convincing when he was taking 11+ 3ptfga shooting barely 30%. Who is giving him that type of green light?

Who's a better prospect: Anthony Black or Castle?

Black for me does more, and is better at everything except screen navigation. Castle is stronger and a slightly better defender.

Black was massively smarter and better at driving.
Black was also an elite flopper, lol.

Castle. But it's close. Castle is falling down my board but not because he's done anything wrong, there's just guys I like better. I have him mocked to go to the Wizards at #2 despite that. I think the Wizards are paying Poole to be their combo guard, go-to scorer. They have Avdija at the 4 and Kispert at the 3. What they need is a backcourt facilitator that can defend to protect Poole. It's a perfect fit since he's the best point guard defender in the draft. With pick #25 they can take the best center still available whether that's Bona, Ware, Ighodaro, Chomche or Edey and they'd be sitting pretty with a well-constructed roster of young players that compliment one another. You could go the other way too i.e. take Clingan at #2 and then get Poole's backcourt running mate at #25 in Walter, McCullar, or Dunn.

Re: Stephon Castle
I still think Charlotte makes the most sense for Castle.
Not sure why the PG issue is a big thing, we have Melo who is injury prone he will get his chance to play PG when Melo goes down. He could also be that secondary playmaker even when Melo is on the floor. He fits perfect with Melo/Miller imo.
