Either run it back or look to trade Mitchell for something complimentary to Mobley for the next 5+ years

It all depends on what Mitchell wants to do. If he won’t resign there’s gonna be about 20 suitors ready with offers.

Trade Mitchell and prioritize the development of the young players. Garland was lost the entire playoffs and Mobley was inconsistent. They are not ready to play championship basketball right now.

On the surface it seems like a decision between Garland/Mobley or Mitchell/Allen.

Keep coach and FO.

Performed just about as expected.

Somewhat of a treadmill team, needs more depth maybe.

Stories seems to be emerging that JB will be fired and DG will request a trade in the event Mitchell will be retained.

Assuming if Mitchell decides to stay it seems likely DG and Allen will be packaged together to move them off the team...specifically because Garland's contract alone is hard to move.

I said it in the Garland trade demand thread (if Mitchell is extended). I would trade Allen, Mitchell and Garland. Tell the league we're building around Evan Mobley. He's our franchise guy. The same way Paolo is Orlando's franchise. The way Scottie Barnes is Toronto's franchise. Rip the bandaid off and tell everyone if you're not on Evan's program, you're out.

Fire G.M.
Fire H.C.
As expected (given their poor roster construction and depth)
Waning team (they can keep being pretenders by running it back but no better than that)

I'd blow it up, trade everyone but Mobley and build around him. If done properly within 3 years they'd be making legitimate playoff runs and be a contender. Every team starting from zero should be able to build a playoff team within 3 years. Cavs will have Mobley so the job would be even easier.

Honestly, I thought about it again, that Mitchell trade with Utah was so egregiously bad, Cleveland might just have to tell everyone to STFU and run it back. Losing four straight years (two swaps included) of picks beginning in 2025 and retooling around Mobley, you might be forced to suck it up and roll with it. Allen has two years left, but he's a rim running big that might be too soft for the playoffs.

Everyone wants the Spurs to make trades (because they want their treasure trove of picks), but the Spurs are a cap conscious franchise while they're rebuilding, so they won't do it. This is where the play-in messes things up. I have to really think about where to trade some of these guys.

Too much blame placed on the coach and bench, not enough blame on their core.

If you're building around Mobley, you'd be foolish to trade Garland. You won't find a better PG to pair Mobley with.

No way Allen gets traded unless opposing teams give an insane package for him. He was terrific this year and is on a very team friendly contract.

I'll do ya one better, it is 5 straight drafts they have no control over.

2025 unprotected 1st to the Jazz
2026 unprotected 1st to the Jazz (swap)
2027 unprotected 1st to the Jazz
2028 unprotected 1st to the Jazz (swap)
2029 unprotected 1st to the Jazz

This is the exact time to trade a guy like Allen. Buy low, sell high.

Nah, screw that. Keep him, he’s too good.

I think you could maybe find one that plays D a bit better.

Garland's improvement to the team''s offensive efficiency more than outweighs his defensive limitations. He also does a lot of little things on the defensive end that help offset his man-on-man limitations.
