Rondo has a petulant personality and will always be in Stevens' doghouse (and mine too) for going AWOL in Sacramento to attend his birthday party in LA. It was no big deal basketball-wise (it was the second night of a back-to-back and both teams were lottery bound), but that was the big star giving a young first year coach the finger.

Less than a year later Rondo was gone, and he went through 6 teams afterwards.

Hopefully the Hornets allow Lee to finish the postseason with the Cs if he gets the job.

I understand first time head coaches can't always be super picky about where they land but surely Lee can get a better opportunity than Charlotte.

We're going to need several replacements for next Season.
Charles Lee is already gone, and Sam Cassell is also being interviewed.

Sam Cassell never gets a headcoaching job, I wouldn't worry about it.

Why would Sam Cassell leave to coach with Doc in Milwaukee? That situation is kind of a trainwreck.

Well he's been Doc's assistant for years and a part of many different failures with two different teams.

Correct. But why would he want to follow him to that team? They're kind of effed

So Sam Cassell gets the Lead Assistant spot, aka 2nd in Command?

Has Sam accepted and this is official or just what the team plans to do?

Cassell with such a wholesome smile. Dude always smiling, always with energy.

Really hope he stays at least another year..

He's 54 now, turns 55 in November. He's been in rumors/interviews for a bunch of different HC gigs over the past couple of yrs..it's starting to feel like if he hasn't gotten one by now, it's not gonna happen. Maybe he will just stay in Boston long term as Joe's 2nd in command. The 2 of them could stay on staff for 10+ more years - that'd be cool..

He's made it clear he wants a head coaching gig. Probably he'd take any one that's offered.

That said, I believe his signals that he's very happy in Boston.
