It's not blaming the coach for the shooting of the players.
The point is why make a sudden change when Giddey was a starter the whole season and OKC just won Game 4 to tie the series at 2-2.
Giddey played 80 games and started all 80 games.
What's worse is the replacement, Isaiah Joe, went 2-9 while Giddey went 5-8 coming off the bench.
Again, it's a big change and doing it in pivotal Game 5 was a risky move and it backfired.
The coach is to blame because he's the one who made the change in the starting unit.
I applauded the Move NOT because it was guaranteed to work but rather the HC was not afraid to try. Giddey has started all other games in the playoffs and the team has struggled to make 3s. And saying it backfired is reaching. OKC has lost twice with Giddey as a starter this series. The entire team couldn't shoot... Again... Putting that on I Joe or the coach is being way to simplistic.
Dallas is literally way off of Giddey like his name is Ben Simmons. Clogging the lane. I see it and so does the HC. Why can't you??
We can debate this all day long, but in the end the result was a loss for OKC.
Maybe if OKC lost Game 4 then a move in the starting unit was needed.
But OKC won Game 4, so why make such a big change?
I watched the 1st qtr. and it was clear Dallas had the momentum after a slow start by OKC.
