He's obviously a god GM when it comes to the draft.

Have some of you considered getting off your knees?

He took Cole over Maxey, Bane, and Quickley too

Weltman has been good. Good GMs still make mistakes.. hell even great GMs do. That’s why we’re paid the big bucks to sit here and make thousands of posts analyzing every move

The reductionism in saying “Weltman is right every time” is pretty painful

In hindsight you take one of those 3 over Cole and we probably don't get Paolo at #1 sooooo....

I think people are sleeping on Jett big time. He needed this season to finish recovering and rehabbing his leg/s, which was a bonus for Weltman juggling a deep team. Howard took an Okeke-like arrangement and got time to recover and in return getting picked a few slots higher (IMO).

I think this one will pay off. Jett’s movement and physicality from summer league to the end of the season was night and day different. He’ll be a passable defender now that his legs don’t move like they have cinder blocks on them.

Most of all - I think the kid will have the scoring touch we want in the backcourt. His shot is pure, on or off the ball. He has a crafty handle and can control his pace of play, and he can run a PnR and a DHO.

I think he’ll be up and down next season, but he’ll have some really explosive nights when he’s on. Watch him go for 30 on at least one occasion. People will be saying “why trade for Devin Booker when we have Jett Howard at home?”

Opt out on Ingles, then cheap deal
Sign monk
Let chuma+fultz go
Harris and goga a 1+1

unleash Jett

Suggs, AB, Cole
Monk, Jett, Harris
Franz, Houstan, Ingles

Says he’s going to spend his summer working on defense and hitting open 3’s.

I think he’ll come in looking to fill a similar role what Houstan was doing this season.

Based on what he did with our TWO (count them-2!) lottery picks last summer…you have to wonder if he was expecting one more high pick for his stash and the team & coach overshot his expectations.

I've always been high on Jett because he can shoot and dribble the ball very well. If he said he was gonna work on passing the ball this summer, I would faint in joy.

we dont "know" he can shoot. He could shoot in college and G League. but that doesnt always translate to the NBA. Orlando drafted the best college 3 pt shooter before, and he couldnt make it in the NBA and is now playing in Australia.

Isn't this like not a fair compare?

Not a single mock that I am aware of had J Howard middle of the 2nd round.

Good video, sounds like he's ready to contribute as a spot up shooter, and won't be a liability on defense.
