Kispert + #26 = what pick?

Post#1 » by TGW » Sat May 18, 2024 5:08 pm

What's the best pick the Wizards could get for this package? I know there are teams in the teens that desperately need shooting. Ideally somewhere in the 8-12 range would be nice. Are there any teams that would be interested?

I don't think there is any chance of 8-12. I don't think Kispert is going to move you up more than 6-8 slots. Kispert is a nice floor player and likely is a end of rotation player for a long while in the league. But teams are usually willing to take a swing versus locking in that floor.

Maybe #20 if a team likes Kispert?

I could see Cleveland and Phoenix interested [#20 and #22]. Maybe New Orleans at #21 if they move C.J.

Kispert need a new contract in a year. i think you're lucky to even get a late 1st for him so i'd have that package at around 20-22

Maybe a deal with the grizz but swapping 27 for 9 takes quite a bit more than Kispert.

Kennard + Ziaire + #9 for Avidjia

Take out Avidja, make it Kuzma and it's a deal.

Thinking the Magic would give you 18

Just ask for their 2nd and they would add that too...

Take out Avidja, make it Kuzma and it's a deal.

Then take out #9 and put in #58 and it's closer

Is this a serious response or just an over the top response? Cause I don't see anyway Kuzma is worth 9, let alone 9 plus a few things.

And I don't know how the #9 and what I feel is junk filler is remotely worth Avidja. See how easy that is? Oh and I think Kuzma for #9 in one of the weakest drafts in memory isn't that far off at all. The #9 in this draft is like #18-20 in a good draft.

#9 is still a lot closer to Deni than kuzma is a lot closer to #9 .

More potential of bust for sure than previous drafts but no where close to 18-20 in a good draft.

I seriously doubt the Wizards move off a Kispert just to move up 4-5 spots in this draft. That doesn't make a ton of sense from the Wizards perspective when the cupboard is already bare.

GMs talking about this draft is like drafting Tobias Harris at #1 yet Deni Avdija on one of the best contracts in the league is only worth a late lottery pick & cap filler. Make it make sense!

Yeah the top of the draft doesn't look to have any star level prospects. Thats why everyone says its a bad draft, because the teams that need big time level players arent going to find someone that fits that bill. But it also looks pretty flat with a number of player's that profile as at least rotation level players.

Also I said nothing about Avidja for 9 being good or fair. I only questioned Kuzma for it.

Well, a Tobias not on a max contract in the last decade has been a pretty good player, right? So, put a Tobias Harris on a rookie contract for 4 years, and restricted free agency (so a path to team control for u to another 5 years), and that’s a pretty valuable player/contract, no?

If your looking at it from that perspective it's only valuable for the rookie deal because the next 5 years are going to be wildly overpaid.
