Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
Blazers outgoing players: Demanded Ayton, Robert Williams, and Matisse Thybulle
Blazers incoming players: Ben Simmons, Jonathan Isaac, and Ousmane Dieng
Blazers incoming draft picks: Two future firsts from OKC, and one future first from ORL and BKN
Thunder outgoing players: Hidden and Dieng
Thunder incoming players: Robert Williams
Thunder outgoing draft picks: two future firsts to Blazers
Magic outgoing players: Isaac
Magic incoming players: Giddey and Thybulle
Magic outgoing draft picks: future first round to Blazers
Nets outgoing players: Simmons
Nets incoming players: Aston
Nets outgoing draft picks: one future first to Blazers
Why for Nets, Simmons offers nothing at all. Ayton is a scorer and maybe a replacement for Claxton.
Why for Thunder, Williams is the missing rebounder this young team needs. Giddey is a great passer but offers little else. Dieng is so raw, he's at least two years away from doing anything.
Why for Magic, Thybulle is a less injury prone version of Isaac and Giddey can accelerate the offense with his passing. Suggs and Thybulle can protect Giddey on defense.
Why for Blazers, time to start a complete rebuilding starting with trading for large ending contracts and acquiring as many firsts as possible. Good young guards in Sharpe, Henderson, and young vet in Simons and not much else.

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
While I have much less faith in Isaac staying healthy or ever becoming anything on offense than some others do, and have often seen him as an obnoxious distraction, I also don't want P. Giddey on my team.

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
Tough to justify multiple 1sts for a player as injured as Williams.
I'd also be surprised if the Nets were that interested in Ayton. At best it would be plan B if Claxton signs elsewhere for something they don't want to match.

I'm not sure the Blazers should even be getting 1 first round pick in this trade, let alone 4.

The player swaps for Portland had me saying no, but then the draft picks changed my tune. Blazers getting too much actually. 4 1sts is a haul.

This. Williams is always hurt and has one year left. Ayton is overpaid considerably. Thybulle got one offer in free agency and was acquired by Portland for nothing.
No idea why all of sudden other teams are beating down Portland's door to overpay for these players. Feels off by every asset they receive here.

Too good for POR.
Also who is “Hidden?”
Is that Giddey?

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
Giddey isnt a good fit for the Magic, and adds another young guy that will need a new contract next season when they already have Suggs and Franz to worry about.

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
Orlando passes quite easily.
Giddey is not the PG they are in need of.
I like Thybulle, but he should be able to be gotten for a pair of seconds.

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
1 too many firsts from a OKC (though it depends on pick specifics).
I think if you find a way to send Anfernee Simons to Orlando in exchange for slightly more assets from Orlando then it would probably fit better.
This is like "Blazers do everything they need to in a single trade" which seems a bit too grand to actually work though.

More I think about it the more I don't think Nets do it. I have them leaning towards rebuilding rather than improving. Maybe, maybe, if there's some difference maker free agent lined up to go there, but I doubt it.

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
What? Why on earth would the Nets want Ayton's max albatross deal? They're about to unburden themselves from one, and instead give up a fiesta to take on another?

Pretty bold and well thought out…love it for POR. OKC-not sure Time Lord is more likely to play than Lonzo, but if healthy it’s solid. Not a bad bet for BRK…I think Ayton could flourish if you feature him in the offense. For ORL, it’s close, but I’d say swap Thybulle out for Simons and ORL adds Cole Anthony and another protected frp to POR. Thybulle isn’t really something ORL needs more of.

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
If Portland is getting overpaid Brooklyn has a ton of second round picks.
Does the deal make more sense if the Nets give up some second rounders instead of a first rounder?

I'm not sure any team is giving up an expiring for a maxed out Ayton without GETTING compensation, especially a team that already has younger, cheaper options and has historically prioritized wings/guards and been cheap when it comes to paying bigs.

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
Wait so the Nets are re-signing Claxton to about $20M a year. They have Dayron behind him. Now they will add Ayton?
WTF?

WTF?

OP said Aston.
Didn't realize we were talking about a center.

Re: Blazers-Thunder-Magic-Nets
This makes no sense for Orlando at all. None of the players coming in help much at all, and it also costs a 1st round pick? No thank you.
