Has there ever been a player that complains more than Luka Doncic?

I really do wonder what these so called “superstars” would be without the whistle. Such double standards by the refs between guys like luka and any other ordinary joe. Today the reversed a foul on luka because he cried and pleaded and they challenged the play which there was clearly contact but they ruled it no foul

It’s truly one of the most bizarre things to watch when you’re a fan of a team that doesn’t and has never had a league darling player. Watching other teams star players just complain and the refs will just change the call, no review no video no challenge. I don’t think that’s ever happened to Charlotte. NBA has certainly earned its reputation when it comes to reffing

Speaking of what you said about reviewing I noticed throughout the series if a questionable call went against OKC the refs would sometimes review it automatically or the coach would complain then they would review it, and that's without even using a challenge. Not once did it see that for the Mavs.

And I have no reason to have sour grapes the Mavs won the series. I'm just giving my honest take of what I saw.

take that SGA "block" on the 3 attempt, it's a play right in front of the refs. Shai blatantly gets him on his arm, instead of 3 FT's it's a fast break, 5 on 4 with Luka on the floor. how do u not call that, superstar vs. superstar in the most crucial game of the season?

so blatant...but yeah his whining is awful. he's one of the best players to ever play the game, if he cleaned that up he'd be 5 times more entertaining

Luka is bad when it comes to whining or staring/motioning towards ref, but let’s not forget about Draymond.

Every drive and missed layup and he berates the officials. He should have 10x the technical fouls that he has.

This thread exists but there's no thread complaining about these type of calls really? Be better. I bet not many here would love getting physically assaulted like it's hockey with no calls what so ever. But you only focus on Luka complaining about it. I would complain too.

As a diehard Magic Johnson fan, Luka reminds me of him a ton. Not just ability-wise, but definitely the complaining.

To be fair, he had plenty of reason to be pissed last night. Dort should have fouled out by halftime.

in Luka's defense, he is very adept at foul-hunting and he doesn't get calls when he should. It reminds me of Shaq and how on every possession he'd both foul and be fouled but because he was bigger and stronger they didn't give him all the calls he deserved. Doncic is both savvy and bigger and stronger than many of the guys defending him. I can see why he gets frustrated.

I wanna add that during his bad games, Luka accompanies his complaining with not even getting back on D and being unfocused in general. he put a masterful defensive perfomance yesterday, watch the game and focus on his D - you'll be surprised

so for me, as long as he plays this hard and well on D I can live with his complaining a bit more

Totally agree, I can ignore a lot of Luka's BS (or anyone else) but it gets me irrationally angry when it leads to easy baskets for the other team. If i can convince myself there's some strategy behind the bitching, even if it's not that effective, it's all good. Once you're giving away points on top of looking like an idiot, my brain starts to break. Luckily got enough experience with Embiid that it's not as bad as it could be.

It's just painful trying to watch a great series and this guy is whining more than Chris Paul on any call that doesn't go his way.

Yes. After the 80's players started to complain more on the court. I think it started with Dennis Rodman trying to bait and manipulate players into fouls and technicals. Then other players decided to embrace the complaining and manipulation of ref's. The following notable players have all complained a lot to officials:

Kobe
Lebron
Harden
Shaq
Draymond
Garnett

But I think players overall complain and talk too much to the refs.....

The overall complaining by lot of players is too much. But then again the refs are so bad, it's hard to blame them.

Compared to how much media and fans complain about his complaining, he doesn't complain that much.
And the fact that those complains are always about his complaining, and never about if he has reasons or not for that, is quite suspicious.

I'd wager Luka has LeBron beat when it comes to complaining when comparing whole careers at this point.
