Then Riley should find a 3rd team before agreeing to this trade with OKC.

I'd wait and make the picks, you guys seem to always find players. Build Giddey's value back up, showcase Jovic and J³ along with whoever you draft with the 2 picks you have this draft then by the trade deadline, you'll have a ton of stuff to offer.

Maybe with all of that you can get a massive package together for a pissed off Giannis or Embiid or whomever is available come next February. Plus, with the money saved off the cap the team can sign a FA or 2 adding even more players that can be moved at a later date.

No, we don't do that sort of thing. I mean, we have (that's what we did with Shaq), but some star that we covet will force his way out and list Miami as a preferred destination, and we'll give the package needed to get him.

No I get it.

I'm saying instead of targeting a Donavan Mitchell this summer, you wait and try and get an Embiid or Giannis next summer or in Feb. Meantime, you grab players and build value back up to move them later.

There's a lot of us that think KD would be the perfect there. Suns can recoup some of what they gave up for him. OKC get a true superstar to pair with SGA. Durant gets some form of redemption as he returns "home" to finally deliver a chip.

I think that idea has legs, not sure if the Suns would pull the trigger so quickly after they made that move. KD would prolly have to force the issue.

Jones came out again today and doubled down that he has no intention of breaking up his trio. OKC needs more size though, they don't have any to compete.

I mean I don't expect the Suns to trade Booker/KD and Beal is just so difficult with his contract and NTC. But even if he were looking at trading them, this is what every team says. It's fairly meaningless. If you come out and say publicly we are shopping guys, its harder to get the best deals.

That's a fair statement, though I believe that's more for any player not a superstar. If Booker and to a slightly lesser extent KD came on the market, I think it will turn into a frenzy of offers, whether it's known or not.

Personally, I don't think the Suns will change course as they brought in Bud to right the ship. They'll try to upgrade the roster with those 2 picks and possibly Nurk. If they fail again, then at least the Suns will know what teams have the top picks in 2025 to trade with and start a rebuild in earnest.

That's where I stand. I think the Suns will hope Bud can fix things and if not then they move Booker next year....possibly for Flagg.
