more bad jay with Nets

so obviously Dirk and Kleber both have issues with this guy so probably DOA...

THJ
Prosper

for

Schroder

Nets pick up a prospect for taking on a mild amount of salary this year.

Dallas sheds $6M to bring back Jones on a full MLE and Dennis should have a small role as a bench scorer. Again assuming the issue with the Mavs German contingent isn't a hold-up.

Nets need a PG a lot more than another raw forward with their existing glut of wings.

Sure.

Nets also should be more concerned with seasons beyond 24-25 and suddenly that wing glut is gone. And I feel like you can replace a guy like Dennis S readily enough no?

Think I pass just because of the history? Dennis isn’t a needle mover and this isn’t great value. So why not find a cleaner slate..

But Brooklyn should do it. They can’t go into next year with their current guard rotation. So make it worse but get an asset.. I don’t think many expect all of DFS, Cam, Bridges, and Simmons to be on the roster in 8 months.

depends if they are keeping claxton and/or trying to avoid the tax. If they pay to keep claxton (lets say at 25M) then this leaves them at 163M or so at 12 spots accounted for, with zero PG on the roster (i no longer count simmons as a pg). Thats a rough spot to be with only 9M wiggle room before the tax and missing a starting and backup PG. They also have no picks this draft.

Oh their roster doesn't make sense with or without this proposed trade. If they are super concerned about being competitive this year because they are like posters here worried about optics, they are going to have to make other moves to shore up their guard rotation.

I just think if you can pick up a middling asset in a season your BCS is probably fighting for a play-in I'd pick it up and then nibble around the edges for a bad starting PG, right?
