Yes. After the 80's players started to complain more on the court. I think it started with Dennis Rodman trying to bait and manipulate players into fouls and technicals. Then other players decided to embrace the complaining and manipulation of ref's. The following notable players have all complained a lot to officials:

Kobe
Lebron
Harden
Shaq
Draymond
Garnett

But I think players overall complain and talk too much to the refs.....

Luka whines waaayyyy too much and it is annoying but every game i watch i see players begging their coach to challenge foul calls and its really annoying. Harden, James, Towns, and Green are other players who cry way too much on the court. And there are many more. Its not just Luka although he does need to mature and be a leader on the court.

It’s funny usually people hate players who get the benefit of the whistle.

Luka is so good and doesn’t get the calls he is supposed to get because he is big so he ends up complaining.

Lebron and Carmelo had the same issues with refs and complain to refs. So does everyone else who is a little larger than normal.

Luka however complains to the detriment of the team which as a Mavs fan pisses me off.

If you are not a Mavs fan and it bothers you…you just wanted to nitpick a reason not to like Luka or you’re an NBA fan and you want to like Luka but can’t, understandable. Him complaining leads to his head not being in the game. Would you rather him be unbothered and continue to demolish your team??
