yea, a lot of revisionism always, Antman had huge efficiency questions at Georgia, barely shot 40% from the floor and couldn't clear 30% from 3, had many outings in college where he would disappear...the idea that he was consensus #1 but not Cade is just brutally off base.

meanwhile Cade was locked in #1 pretty much for the entire year

Your memory is faulty. Ant was the consensus #1 in a weak draft.

lol no he wasn't, plenty of of people had Melo going number one and plenty others had Wiseman #1...here is a consensus big board for 2020 with Melo #1, not Antman

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/2200224/2020/11/17/nba-draft-big-board/

also, this is YOU on Ant Edwards btw, back in 2021.

As I called him before the draft, he has million buck moves but can't put up the stats.

I think he is having a hot streak, and his overall season shooting stats are still as putrid as his college splits.

At least, his personality turned out to be more interesting than I thought.

Obviously he is quite good as a prospect, but he doesn't measure up to the typical #1 pick.

now all the sudden he was a consensus #1 pick?

Cade was the near consensus #1 in a strong draft. In his draft, there are 3 players clearly better than him at the moment. THere is a clear contingent of people who believed Cade to nothing more than a role player, which he is on path to becoming.

If Cade has one hater left on the planet, I am that person. He is pure certified loser.

Ant was not the consensus #1. I'd say he probably had a slim edge by draft time and Wiseman's stock had fallen, but Ball was very much in play.

consensus #1 guy drafts is when the possibility of no one else being #1...that's Wemby, no one was gonna get drafted #1 ahead of Cade, or Zion or Simmons or Towns.

every other draft it was much more of an open discussion.

Misquoting is your talent it seems.

Once again being a weak #1 != not consensus. I did not like Ant but no one had Wiseman going #1.

Antman wasn't a consensus #1 pick, that's just a fact bro, not hard just admitting you're wrong

and any idea that Antman was a consensus #1 but Cade wasn't is immediately laughable and revisionist

There was a large contingent of Wolves fans who wanted Wiseman at #1. There were articles abound that Charlotte wanted Wiseman but had to trade up to 1. Maybe Edwards was consensus #1 on draft night, after it already leaked that Minny was taking him, but he most certainly was not leading up to the draft.

Cade was unanimously #1 the moment he had his first good game in college

I'm wrong on this one. Ant was not concensus doubly so if I want to continue my crusader against Cade by arguing that Cade was not concensus.

finally Kentucky is gonna build a real team, i think Garrison, Otega and Butler are huge gets for them in the transfer portal, they also got Kriisa and Kobe Brea.

not a single top 50 recruit coming in. JQ switched to Arizona St, Billy Richmond follows Cal to Arkansas

Cal of course immediately gets a freakish team at Arkansas

he got Johnell Davis in transfer portal which is a huge coup, Wagner and Ivisic also follow him from Kentucky, and gets 3 top recruits in Billy Richmond, Karter Knox and Boogie Fland.

I am keeping an eye on Asa Newell (UGA) and Nolan Traore. I see them marking their territory for the top 5 and possibly being in play for the #1 pick. I need to see how the offseason plays out before I figure out who is going to be tanking/terrible besides Washington and Utah.

Dont like this move for him, also linked to Illinois. He needs to leave Madrid but stay in a pro league in Europe or the NBL.

Michael Ružić performance this season gets overlooked a lot. He is 6'10 17 year old who is still growing producing in Spanish ACB league and Eurocup. Level of basketball where only rare like Dončić or Rubio were abel to produce at that age. His game is not so s.xy but his understanding of game and maturity is beyond his age, while his body is developing rapidly. Clearly visible even from start to end of season. NBA draft net has him 10th, but I still get feeling his season at such level gets unnoticed

Zikarsky and Maluach I think both have top 5 potential.

Everytime I tried to watch Maluach, he looked awful. Probably just bad timing

Maluach sucks

early (and extremely fluid) top 7 for me right now:

Cooper Flagg
Ace Bailey
Dylan Harper
Nolan Traore
Hugo Gonzalez
Bryson Tucker
Egor Demin

solid front 7, 1AD class gets a lot weaker after this, Asa Newell and Donnie Freeman could potentially be intriguing down the line but it's a wait and see for me.

His physical appearance makes him look like he's a fast-twitch athlete, however, all of his moves towards the basket begin below the rim. You juxtapose him with Wemby, Chet, Mobley, Jaren Jackson, Bol Bol, Lively, Mitchell Robinson and he pales in comparison.
