I could definitely see Garland and Allen heading to BK.

They better be getting more than Bridges then lol

Of course they would be getting more. Cam Johnson and maybe another piece to match salary.

Congrats to Jaime. Was looking like a ROY candidate before the injury. Looking forward to to his watching his continued development

- You don't need whales, but they sure can make life a lot easier!

- Butler needs to play more in the regular season, if he has to take games off to make it through the season you shouldn't be asking for a max extension.

- Miami currently has nearly 50 million dollars tied up into 2 3pt shooters (Robinson and Herro) who are negatives on the defensive end. To me this is the biggest issue on the roster.

- Try to keep both Jovic and Jaquez Jr unless you're getting a new whale, that's 40% of your future starting lineup and expectations are that they'll be average or better players.

- Miami let their starting 27-year-old PG from a finals team walk for 11 million per year and replaced him with a 23-million-dollar PG who cost them the assets of a 30 million dollar expiring contract AND a 1st round. Although Vincent probably is overpaid it wasn't by much, he fit a role that needed to be filled and once again... 11 million dollars for a guy Miami was starting and doing what they wanted him to do.

Here's a thought, build a team around Butler and Bam until you have a new guy added to them or replacing Butler? Get a 2 guard who can shoot 3s AND guard (I might be able to live with a Rozier/Richardson backcourt until a better SG is acquired). How about a defensive center to replace your defensive center when he's not on the court?

I think a little retooling is needed.

Pacers and Knicks are not the blueprint. They are a 7th and 8th seed in a healthy east.

I'm not saying they are the blueprint but saying they're a 7th and 8th seed in a healthy east when they themselves weren't healthy is ridiculous.

Teams using Miami for leverage again. Obviously if that’s the asking price you take it but let’s get real we’re far down the list if it becomes a bidding war for Mitchell

When they’re for us you all hate them, when they’re against us the reports are the literal gospel. This is the beginning of leverage play or just putting out the feelers IF Mitchell doesn’t extend

I am just curious how much more leverage Mitchell will have as a impending FA compared to Dame, and how much of that leverage he is willing to use to go where he wants.

Regardless of where he goes, how DM handles this summer will tell a big story for us. The nba has changed since 2010 and has made it harder for us to operate the way we did in the past. It also makes it harder for max players to risk it, with most of them these days taking the extension first and then seeking their exit strategy (example Dame).

To me, this is the last swing for the fences Pat has before he and the Heat really need to re-evaluate their strategy and seek a new approach. Either way, should make for an interesting summer.

He has far more leverage than Dame did but yea, we’ll see if he’s willing to speak up and use it. He should be treating this as a free agency if he doesn’t extend.

Mitchell and Levert for Robinson, Herro, Jaquez Jr works down to the penny 52 mil in and out. We can then trade the 2024 (15) selection after the draft and 2029 protected pick with unprotected roll over to 2030. It's interesting to say the least. Levert's 16 million would come off the books and be the difference the following year in covering the difference needed for Mitchell's 50 mil per max on our cap sheet.
