We might as well just sign Isaiah Thomas or ask Muggsy Bogues how old he has become by now.

So don't say Ant Edwards or someone like that isn't going anywhere.

But I would say you could put Giannis in there because of the MIL situation and there aging players and lack of assets his camp may eventually ask out.

So whats the top 10 "semi" realistic ideal targets for Knicks...go

Mikal Bridges
KAT
Naz Reid
Lauri Markkanen (enters last year of contract)
Herb Williams
Trey Murphy
Keldon Johnson
Lonnie Walker
Jerami Grant
Donovan Mitchell

Markkanen is good one but I will wait for him to become FA first.

I like Mikal. So, you start him at SG and lose all of Donte's shooting?

Last I checked, Bridges doesn't even create off the dribble as well as Donte, and Donte is hardly all NBA at that.

I'd like that Mikal will play the 40 games that OG doesn't.

Will Mikal be good with playing 28 mpg off the bench? If so, Knicks should get him.

KG is on the Knicks hype train too? This team has converted Nets fans/Raptors fan and CELTICS PLAYERS into fans of the team! This is a special group of guys who leave it all on the court! I can't wait for next season.

It's a shame that our playoffs ended like this, but honestly, who should have played against Boston? The off-season will actually be very exciting this year, although I don't expect any big deals. I don't think we have a realistic chance of getting Mikal or Mitchell and somehow I also think that a good player under the basket would be good, especially in the playoffs. Even though I don't like Randle, I don't think we can get anyone else in his position. It would make sense for me to make small swaps with people who fit exactly into our scheme. That's why I advocate Alex Caruso.

Bench will look a hell of a lot more solid with Josh, Mitch, Bog, and Deuce. I'd take Alex over Deuce, honestly. I trust him more as a ball handler than Deuce. I think optically, it might be a awful move to trade Mitch.

I say he runs with hart, and deuce off the bench. He can split the minutes with divo and randle so they each get 32 minutes a night, hart and OG can rotate in and out 24 minutes each

If we do get Mikal then move Randle.

Mitch/IHart
OG
Mikal
Divo
Brunson
w/ Hart, Deuce, Bogy off bench would be solid.

we need that big body post presence who can bang down low and provide gravity with a double so he can kick it to an open brunson or divo. i dont think we move randle, i think we keep him and add to the team

Sign Burks to BAE

Sign Oubre to MLE

Trade Bojan, Sims + future FRP, no. 38 pick for Kuzma

Draft 1st round McCullar Jr.
Draft 1st round Edey/Missi/DaRon Holmes Jr.

Brunson | McBride |Burks
DDV | Hart | McCullar Jr.
OG | Oubre
Randle | Kuzma
iHart | Mitch | Edey

Trade deadline.. we will have Mitch as trade bait if we need to upgrade.

Kuzma/Oubre/Hart can start either 2-4 for a limited time if something were to happen

BTW - you want to get Brunson and Randle sign this offseason. They can get more if they wait but I could see Brunson and Randle signing deals now.

Caruso would be a perfect backup for us. Look what Tj McConnell did to us.

It's kind of silly imo for so many to literally devalue Randle, an all-star who was having not only his best season but was in his best stretch when he got injured. His last 5 games and playing with OG...

January 18 vs Washington 21pts 8 rebs 5 assts
January 20 vs Tor 18pts 16 rebs 10 assts
January 23 vs Brklyn 30pts 9 rebs 7 assts
January 25 vs Den 17pts 7 rebs 8 assts
January 27 vs Mia 19pts 9 rebs 3 assts

Meanwhile Brunson was averaging 32 pts and almost 7 assts during the same stretch. Small sample size but the point is that Randle was settling in nicely to his Robin role and was VERY effective.

Randle and OG were just beginning to gel and the vibes had us really hopeful for a deep playoff run. Now, we're saying to discard a 2x all-star "Robin" without even blinking? yeah, I'll never understand some.

I like Kelly, but he ain't signing for the MLE. Also, not enough minutes to go around for Hart, Oubre, and Kuzma. Kuzma doesn't strike me as someone who can get down with the current Knicks culture. Kelly, on the other hand, I think has the chops to be here.

Players get traded in the last year of their contract so their teams don’t lose them for nothing.

Return to New York Knicks
