Toronto - GSW

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Tue May 21, 2024 12:37 am

Toronto trade: Olynyk
GSW trade: Looney, Moody, ATL 2026 2nd

Why for Toronto: see if Moody can be the 3/D fifth starter & replace GTJ
Why for GSW: Add a stretch big with high IQ by trading one of their many SGs

I'm still a Moody believer, but I'd do this. He's never going to get consistent PT under Kerr and we need a stretch 5 in the worst way.

Added the 2nd for Olynyk's extra year of cost control vs Moody who will need a new contract in a year.

That and im greedy/figure GSW is desperate for a stretch big they wont mind overpaying a little :)

I would say if Moody plays well enough in Toronto to earn a 2nd contract that's value enough, no? Because its either cheap or Moody has balled out to earn a big contract which would be terrific for Toronto, no?

Unless another team gives him a bigger offer than we would want to give and we either lose him or overpay him

But just in terms of value if he plays well enough to get a big offer then you got a better year out of him than you would have Olynyk and so your value was getting the better player and theirs is getting the extra year.

I mean its a 2nd so its no big deal either way. But I added the 2nd in my deal because of Powell's 2nd year not because of Olynyk's.

I dont necessarily view moody as the better player nor have he proven to be one to date. Id argue there is a good chance Olynyk remains the better player next year. OP is meant for both teams to trade a bench player for a 5th starter. But yea the 2nd probably doesnt make or break the deal either way

Oh I think Kelly is the better player too. I'm just saying any realistic scenario where he played so well he got an offer Toronto wouldn't want to match, he absolutely had a better season next year than Olynyk. :D I don't expect that at all. Just playing out your scenario.

I'd prefer to keep Looney and Moody.
Warriors C are screen setters rim protectors

Looney I'd 10 and 12 playoff performer
