Honestly It's not even up to Pat ATM.

We have middling assets. It is what it is.

It's up to Cavs front office, And up To Mitchell. If Mitchell says he's only extending with us, it gives us a chance because he's a free agent in a year. He can kill his market.

Then you ask yourself should we be giving all available picks + Jovic + Jamie or not.

This is the only way we have a chance to land Donovan, or Bammy does some kind of dark vodoo to get him to miami

Amico is a Cleveland reporter, there could be smoke in the outer woods

EDIT: He was also the first reporter that leaked LeBron back to Cleveland 2 years prior

The funny thing this bastard is leaking stuff while we just came off a championship against OKC

Now, there is talk that James is less-than-thrilled with certain aspects of the Heat organization. Sources in Miami say that while James still thoroughly enjoys playing alongside fellow stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, he doesn't particularly care for the heavy-handed and disciplined style of team president Pat Riley.

James can opt out of his contract at the end of the 2013-14 season, and speculation is he will strongly consider it if Riley remains in his current role. And the team James would be eyeballing most in free agency, say those close to the situation, would be the Cavs.

Can we S&T Caleb to them as part of this potential Donovan deal?

Yes. But as long as we're over the first apron, we can't receive a player in a sigh and trade.

We also have to take back equal or more salary then we send out.

Doubt they would want him with all the potential wings they are going to have after the deal. I do see Martin getting S&T to the team of his choosing that gets us a 2nd.

I wake up and see Herro trending on x with one of the stories (can't verify it) being that Herro has put his house on the market.

Someone posted a Zillow posting but that house has been on the market for 28 days already but dropped 800k on May 5th to the asking price of 12.2 mil. The pictures look the same as the ones used in the stories of the house he bought but who knows.

I found this posted a few days ago.

I’m waiting on Barry to comment on yesterdays Amico article saying the Heat think Herro is very close to a break through and aren’t interested in trading him for Mitchell

Herro desperately needs a change of scenery. The organization needs to move on. The moment UD went on national TV and stated Tyler needed to be a 6th man was pretty much the writing on the wall.

I think there's some context missing with UD's statement. On Miami's team and how they build around defense first, a guy like Herro probably should come off the bench.

Herro needs to be on a team with a more open offense and either not care about defense or they have a shot blocker to help cover up lesser to terrible perimeter defenders. His offense isn't dominate enough to cover up his defensive decencies the way Miami plays.

Just like w/ the Dame circus I’m not playing the same game’s w/ Mitchell or anybody else for that matter. I’ll wait for any Woj bombs. I’ll trust Pat & our FO to make the best decisions for our team & future. If that means trading Herro I’m open to it if Riles deems it necessary to land that missing piece. Enjoy the off-season sh*t show peoples!
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Too many years wrapped up in trade talks and fan base bullying has not been healthy. It’s time for both parties to move on.

This stuff matters for setting expectations for public response/perception of a trade. Miami rarely benefits from national or non-local media narrative shaping. See the Dame saga last off-season as the prime example.

Hopefully this serves as an anchoring effect for a Mitchell trade and he actually does want to prioritize getting to Miami.

Every time I dabbled on the trade machine with a Mitchell trade, the Herro-Jaquez-Duncan (plus picks) for Mitchell and LeVert always stood out as a very clean transaction. LeVert is a mercurial player soon to be expiring, so I don't think there'd be much heart burn from Cleveland to throw him in there. Jaquez serves as an enticing young wing prospect to pair with Mobley's timeline. They've been dying for a versatile wing like Jaquez in Cleveland.

IMO any scenario with this trade happening would also be paired with a Rozier trade. It's apparent that pairing 2 small guards doesn't work well in the modern NBA. Rozier is more valuable than being limited to a 15 minute per game backup. Trade Rozier for a 3&D forward or frontcourt rotation piece and the roster finds a lot of balance.

Mitchell - Richardson/Wright - Alondes
Wright - LeVert (green light off the bench)
Butler - Highsmith/Cain/Swider
Jovic - Highsmith
BAM - Love/Bona

*Trade Rozier for best fitting role player available* (can Miami get in on the free agent market by using Rozier in a sign and trade?)

Damn it would be nice to keep pick #15 and slot in Tristan Da Silva as a combo forward here. But, in any Mitchell trade scenario that is very unlikely.

With this number being tossed out there for Monk (which is insane), it makes Herro's contract not look as bad. It just takes one team to be good with the price. Monk was signed by LAL for the min and then the Kings paid him 10 mil last year. At this current point in the NBA, I think anyone 25+ mil needs to be your 3rd best player or better and I don't see Monk being the 3rd best player for a championship team.

Doesn’t the same apply to Terry, his defense was not good but maybe with an offseason learning our system it gets a little better?

Terry has defensive limitations, but I think he has more potential in our system. He's a PG with the athleticism to stick with PGs. Herro is a step slow for the quicker guys. Terry's 6'9 wingspan helps, too. Terry's early career saw him as a feisty defender. If he can get back to that, he's in a different category than Herro IMO
