I really hope Cardoso hits because Copper is ballin'. That trade will be interesting to follow with the picks being spent.
Also, can someone sell me on Ogunbowale? All I see is someone that's all flash but shoots sub-40% and is the definition of a volume shooter.

Yeah, Arike is kind of like the Jamal Crawford of the WNBA. Not efficient by any stretch, but creates shots that few others can (for better or worse) and is very clutch.
But last game Dallas was missing Natasha Howard and Satou Sabally, their 2nd and 3rd leading scorers from last year, so she probably felt she had to be extra chucktastic.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

Yeah I was gonna say this, I'm usually critical of Arike's bad efficiency issues, but she had no choice in that game.
Also, congrats to Arike on her engagement

Wemby, greatest talent ever paired with arguably the GOAT head coach. 22-60.
Rookies generally struggle, especially this early. No one should be surprised except casual I barely knew what a basketball was until CC came along types.
Odd game to jump out and proclaim this type of thing when they nearly beat what’s supposed to be a top team with a clear MVP-caliber leader.

Wemby's 2 years younger and playing against a much deeper field.

You’re actually wrong on the field. There are only 12 teams in the league. The talent is very concentrated. Only the best of the best make a roster. 13th overall picks don’t even make the team. Let me know when that happens in the NBA.
There are no cheap wins on the schedule. She’s on one of the worst, that’s why she’s there…and if anything, her team is the cheap win.
Who cares if Wemby is 2 years younger? You’re missing the point. It wasn’t some micro-comparison of the two players. It’s that rookies no matter how talented rarely elevate their horrible teams to a bunch of wins, especially this early.

There could be 2 teams in the WNBA and 100 teams in the NBA and the NBA would still have a much deeper field.

It's a team sport. Also, she's 6 feet tall. She's not small by any means.

His argument is disingenuous and he's not engaging in good faith.
Acting like a top rookie player not leading their teams, which are usually terrible, to victories over elite veteran teams like the Liberty and Sun is some travesty is a load of horsesh*t. Caitlin Clark is going through the rite of passage just like every other rookie in pro sports.
When Wemby got his ass kicked by Joker earlier this season no one made a big deal out of it. Yet, a woman star rookie and her team gets taken to school by veterans and all of a sudden that's not common place?
Man get the f*ck outta here.

Re: 2024 WNBA Season Discussion Thread
The problem isn't Caitlin Clark.
The problem is a lot of DUDES who don't usually watch WNBA hoops came into this thinking that the league was filled with scrubs because they are women, and they somehow believed that CC was going light them up from day 1 of her pro career. Anyone with a shred of knowledge about women's hoops knew better.
The W is filled with the 144 best players in the world. Not college kids on a free ride to their degree. The level of play is top notch.
Yet these guys wanna come in here, show how loud and ignorant they are, and are being shameless about it.

Anyway. Back on topic
Gotta love the uniqueness of the W. Only here will you see two exes on opposite teams getting into it on the court

Well said.
Regarding Nika Muhl's visa issue, it looks like good ol government bureaucracy at work. Hopefully they resolve it soon, but knowing how Visa processes are unless someone calls in a special favor with the feds this may take a lot longer than anyone wants

Don’t blame dudes blame the media and the companies.
It’s the media who put her on another level she has not yet earned.
Remember Diana was called a HATER because she said there is levels to this. Now all her words are coming to true.
Blame the WNBA for disrespecting all the women in the sport by promoting Clark more than all the other women who like you said are good as well.
This is the same WNBA who only aired Angel Reese game after an illegal stream garnered over a million views on Tik tok.
Blame Wilson for giving her own signature ball and she has not even done anything in the W.
Stewie is goated and don’t even got a ball.
If they treated Clark in the same respect as the other stars of the WNBA they you would not have “dudes” giving her smoke.
Since they isolated her from everyone else… she will get isolated smoke.

Re: 2024 WNBA Season Discussion Thread
CC will adjust and get better but I think it's becoming pretty clear she wont be the messiah the WNBA really needs.
To do that a player needs to hit the ground running day 1 and dominate in a way that rookies simply don't, and do things that other players don't, like MJ coming in to the league as a rookie, and then progress to being far and away the best player. Watching her play there's no guarantee she ever becomes the best player in the WNBA. The jump in physicality has been tough for her.
There also appears to be a pretty vocal subset of people (women included) who aren't fond of her and want her to fail.

Facts.
I follow the WNBA social media feeds all over and people are tired of her being forced on people. Yes Including women are.
Everything is about CC and people are getting fed up about it. Especially since she is struggling.
Cameron Brink is having a dominate rookie campaign on defense, even punching Aja schit and she don’t even get half the coverage CC get and plays for the bigger market.
The WNBA is partly responsible for the CC hate cause they have treated her like she better than everyone in their league before she even did everything.
That’s why when Stewie flattens her on a screen people enjoy it. She seems to also be always crying for fouls as well.
Wemby was seen as an Alien, but the NBA did not forget it has stars prior to Wemby coming in. He wasn’t given a red carpet no other player had.
I find it highly disrespectful that Angel Reese has a huge hand in the rise of women’s basketball popularity, yet all we hear about is CC being responsible.
How can the WNBA not realize Reese’s popularity untill an illegal stream when it was obvious from the jump how popular she was. Her Jersey sold out basically just as quick as CC did.
I can’t imagine how other women in the sport who have blood sweat and tears in the W, must feel seeing a WNBA logo on the CC signature basketball and she just stepped in the league.
I think they said Wilson have not given a pro athlete a ball since MJ.
To me that’s just crazy to give a rookie.
