You have a guy who played through injuries the whole season and actually showed potential, but folks want to trade him for Monk and freaking Jordan Poole? Why not actually let Ivey develop and continue to build this season with our cap space. We can even trade the pick and use our cap space to get a good proven player, but folks are asking for Monk and freaking Poole. Some of yall are crazy as hell!
I think you haven’t read through all the posts and you’re missing the context. What I posted was trading Ivey and/or Duren for Poole and the Wizards #2 pick but only if Sarr was available. I believe you it would be hard to find anyone here that wants Poole in any capacity but the prize was Sarr in this circumstance.
I'm on the side of proven talent. Sarr is still a question mark. He's not the shooter we need at the 4 and we don't know if he'll be better than Duren or Stewart. So we give up a guy who flashed potential (Ivey) for freaking Jordan Poole (who's a proven sixth man on an insane contract) and a guy who really doesn't fit as the 4 we need in the future (Sarr)?
Wouldn't it be wise to stay at the 5th spot and hope Zaccharie Risacher(who at least projects to be a shooter) drops or trade the pick for someone who we know can shoot at the 3 or 4?
Sarr is a Center not a power forward. He’ll be able to play there in time but for the first couple of seasons he’s a 5. Duren is bad defensively and average-slightly above average on offense. Sarr will come out of the gate with good defence and good form on his outside shot which I think will come round making him a stretch 5. I’d be happier giving up Duren over Ivey since if Ivey can improve his shot he’ll be a productive player but nothing will fix Durens defence, and he will never be a shooter.
Risacher looks more like he just had a hot steak early on with his shooting because his ft% is trash and he shot poorly the last 3rd of the season. He can’t create for himself, he’s not super long or crazy athletic by NBA standards, I don’t know how anyone could say he will be or projects to be a better player than Sarr.
The fact that you think Sarr is a 4 shows you haven’t really done your homework.
