I just read Wemby is the first rookie to ever make 1st team all defense. This can't be real. I have to fact check it. It was hard enough for Bam to win DPOY now with Wemby out here as well it's going to be way harder.

The award is ran by narratives now unfortunately, it’s why the prior winning DPOYs are nowhere to be found. Smart (1st guard since Payton!!!) and JJJ(BPG!!!!) haven’t been in the DPOY convo or even made an all defense team since winning the award. Popularity contest too.

I was wrong on...
So now Bam gets the super-max extension instead of just a max extension.

*All-Defensive team doesn't matter for the supermax.

Now, Adebayo waits to see if he’ll also make an All-NBA Team for the first time in his career. Those three teams made up of five players regardless of position will be announced Wednesday at 8 p.m. on TNT.

Wednesday’s All-NBA reveal is especially important to Adebayo because it will likely determine the value of his next contract.

The only remaining way that Adebayo, who is currently under contract through the 2025-26 season, can become eligible for the supermax extension is by being named to an All-NBA team (first, second or third) this season.

If Adebayo does make the All-NBA cut, he would become eligible to sign a four-year, $245 million extension this offseason.

But if Adebayo doesn’t qualify for the supermax, he will instead be eligible for a three-year contract worth $165 million that would begin with a $51.2 million salary for the 2026-27 season.

Bam isn’t making an all nba team, we don’t care enough about the regular season for that award

or the Heat need to be #1 Seed and #1 defensively.

A few years back we were the #1 seed and I believe top 5 in defense and he finished below Smart, Bridges, and Gobert. The voters cater to the box score metrics and media darlings, if you don't fall into one of those categories you have to be someone that campaigns to the media on your own behalf because they are too casual to look beyond stat sheets and narratives. A big summer in Paris could help put him more on the casuals radar

true, I forgot about that and yea the stats play a part. Team USA will help with his reputation. Bam's has rep grown evn more since the finals which played apart in him making 1st team defensively for the 1st time.

CP, Randle and good draft pick would be my dream scenario, closest to realistic dream scenario, but we probably have nothing the Knicks covet
