Had JB not forced that turnover and hit that three, Tatum would be getting ROASTED by the media for that fourth quarter. And rightly so.

My whole text chain the last 7 minutes of the 4th was Tatum slander. I would have blamed Al. He's simply missing too many good looks. If they werent all spot up wide open ones I wouldnt be so frustrated.

Jaylen's three sent it to OT but he was 1-4 in the 4th with some bad turnovers and defensive lapses. It's not like he was any better than Tatum in the 4th. A lot of our guys had their really bad moments but also good moments.

I expect much more from Tatum than Jaylen. Just saying - he was watching that fourth quarter happen when he wasn't actively screwing it up.

Obviously, but they could have done more, especially knowing how fragile Zinger has been

Not really. There's not enough centers in the league for one team to get three good ones.

Al looks like his offense is gone. We might get one good game in seven.

Indiana pretty much neutralized the garden, hopefully our guys don't forget.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Are you expecting 30+ points? He's not getting shots or involved in the offense enough. That's on Mazzulla. White had some boneheaded plays but his defense was elite and the offense flowed through him for the biggest possessions in OT. This offense becomes stalled when they let the Jays ISO too much. The key to winning in crunch time is getting high quality looks consistently, not fadeaway ISOs.

I think White can be better. He did it in the 1st round didn't he?

This was a curious call from Carlisle. Late-game too. But we never really took advantage of it that much.

My thing is this. We're clearly the more talented team. But the 2 guys who played at a different energy than anyone was McConnell and Neismith. Their energy carried the pacers at times.

To me when get way too passive or just allow teams to get us to play and slow when they get physical. We need to fight threw that.

Stevens is a basketball guiness. He really is. Which is why I don't understand the Mazzula love. Like how does he not see the guy is a hindrance.

Actually, Jrue much more efficient, going to swap that around.

Important win in clutch and shouldn't be too confident for game 2 now either, maybe a silver lining!

JT for VC really??? Lol
He almost cost us the game in regulation.
Jaylen for VC for that clutch D and clutch shot to send to Ot. Jrue for CP.
JT did well in ot though, but he still **** us up in the 4th. Oh well a win is a win. I hope the pacers gets deflated after this loss.

JT was not efficient but was still very good and the reason we staying in it then won in OT. Every time he was off the floor was a disaster for a reason.

Regardless, if you read my post I changed my mind and had Jrue for efficiency.

I give him props for stepping up in OT, but he played awful in the clutch in regulation. Too many turnovers, lazy D, and missed wide open shots that would have us in the game in the closing minute of regulation. He needs to sink those shots. Voting JT for vc made you look like a JT fan boy, and a Jaylen hater. Glad you changed it to jrue though. Anyways, we will continue to struggle if JT plays like that in the 4th. He shot poorly from outside, and was really unstoppable inside. Just don’t understand why he settles too much.

I would never wish for it, since I always want blowouts preferably, the Celtics finally, mentally, got through a clutch time win at home in the playoffs. Feels like we always lose when the game is close otherwise. Yes, it took a lot late for it to even get to overtime but I just hope they can build some confidence after this. White and Tatum kept playing bunnies, Tatum missed threes, the awful turnovers from both Jays. Brown with the biggest shot of the season and then Tatum looking like Tatum again in overtime was great to see.

We gotta protect home court. It’s not easy winning in Indy without KP.

The bench gets a big fat F and Al is right there with them. Gotta be better

White also needs to be better protecting the ball and finish better. Don’t know what happened to his ability in driving in and scoring confidently like he used.

Feel like Tatum is due to have a game hitting 5 threes. He’s been building up since game 2 against the Cavs.

Mazzulla needs to be aggressive, if Tatum is hot, keep him in. He played with fire late 3rd with the bench lineup that saw a 13 point lead go down to 1 in 2 minutes. If you gotta ride your best players, then do it. Do whatever it takes to go up 2-0 at least. You can even throw a stinker at Indy when you’re in that position.

We ignored it and Jaylen ended up taking an awkward shot. There was no one behind Tatum to help either, would've been an easy layup opportunity that Tatum would of course miss.

I thought Jayson and Jaylen did a great job of carving up the D and scoring at the rim. Do that. Not fadaways. Not stalling beyond the arc and chucking up a bad three.

Drive and try to finish strong, or kick it out, and win a title, and then shoot fadeaways in your crocs on your yacht in the summer.

Curious if the “two minute report” will say Jaylen fouled Siakam going for that inbound pass with 10 seconds left. If so: we’re even.

It really should be that high of a bar for Tatum. That wasn't good enough, esp in the 4th, esp against a team that has no one that can stop him individually (no offense to Nesmith fans).

We need something from Hauser. I was worried about him disappearing in the playoffs and so far he has not answered those concerns.

FWIW, I voted JRue player of the game despite the end of regulation heroics by Brown and OT. heroics by Tatum.

Halliburton is one hell of a player. Great on court demeanor….he has to score high on Ainge brain typing.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."
