OKC-LAC

Post#1 » by HadAnEffectHere » Wed May 22, 2024 1:38 pm

Thunder get: Kawhi
Clippers get: Best of OKC's 2025 picks (so probably their own...), Giddey, Dieng, Kenny Hustle

Why for Thunder: Add an elite rebounder, shooter, and help defender to play PF next to Chet. Kawhi cannot play high intensity minutes anymore, but should be able to be a release valve with high gravity in the postseason as well.

Why for Clips: This core is over as Kawhi can't play as a first option in the postseason anymore and Harden and PG13 are close to the cliff. This trade allows the Clippers to tank for one year and then have tons of cap space in 2025 to rebuild.

So OKC and LAC would avoid making any moves until July 8th?

Just too risky. We can afford trading for almost any player in the league (assets wise) so doing it for the most injury prone one isn't ideal.

They'd only have to avoid making official moves. They can make verbal agreements and have everything arranged.

Though I really doubt that LAC give up on Kawhi and competing.
